Watch Dropshippers - How To Sell Watches On eBay

If you are interested in selling watches on eBay then follow these easy steps. There is no short cut to being successful on eBay but there are some proven concepts that will make your journey to success much shorter. This article will show you how to sell what is hot on eBay.

The first thing you should know about eBay is that you should always sell what is in demand. If you want to sell watches you need to know which ones people really want and which brands people are searching for. The best way to find out what people want is to search eBay pulse. eBay pulse will show the top ten searches made within a particular eBay category. As of the writing of this article the top ten searches within the watch category are:

rolex

omega

breitling

cartier

tag heuer

seiko

fossil

iwc

swatch

Gucci

Once you know what is in demand on eBay then you need to find a reliable supplier. You can search the internet for watch dropshippers or watch wholesalers and you might find what you are looking for. I prefer to use dropshippers because you can test out different products on eBay without having to buy the product first. With a wholesaler you will have to buy a large amount of watches and then try to sell them. Another advantage of using a drop shipper is that they will inventory the item and ship it for you.

Follow the above rules and you will be on the right track. Of course there is a lot more to know, but knowing which products are in demand and finding a reliable source are the two biggest obstacles.

Knowing the Anatomy of Your Wristwatch

Why in the world will I want to know the anatomy of a wristwatch? This is a question most people who have bought wristwatches have inadvertently asked themselves. Once a wristwatch is bought or owned, people get the impression that they no longer need to know about it. This is a mindset you should totally rid yourself of. Knowing the anatomy of your wristwatch, first of all, will add fascination to the timepiece strapped to your wrist. More than that, it will teach you how to operate it and, perhaps, even save you precious money and time.

What a Wristwatch Is

The etymology or origin of the word 'wristwatch' usually makes people wonder. But as the term suggests, a wristwatch is a watch strapped to one's wrist. Conventionally, a wristwatch is strapped to one's left wrist, assuming that a person is not a leftie.

Just as a timepiece ought to be, a wristwatch tells the time as it is. Contemporary and conventional wristwatches usually display the date and year, too. This is all thanks to basic modern technology. Also one of the products of technology through the years are the different kinds of wristwatches. These watches include analog watches, digital watches, and calculator watches.

How a Wristwatch is Powered

A wristwatch's power source is one of its most important aspects. Before the advent of wristwatch batteries, wristwatches used to be wound in order to work. After a certain amount of time, however, mercury batteries became available. Due to the hazardous nature of mercury, mercury batteries were replaced by batteries of other sources - alkaline, silver-oxide, and even solar energy.

A wristwatch usually loses its power after two to three years. Once it does, a watch repairman's services usually have to be hired. But if you know well enough how wristwatches' batteries can be replaced, then you can do it yourself with ease.

What the Kinds of Wristwatches Are

There are different kinds of wristwatches, all of which serve the purpose of telling the time while it is strapped to your wrist. Analog watches are wristwatches with numbered dials. It is characterized by its rotating hands, usually three of them - one is the second hand, the other is the hour hand, and the last is the minute hand. Analog watches are usually used for adornments and as collectibles.

Digital watches are the more recent kinds of wristwatches. They are characterized by the fact that they simply display the time through numbers. Digital watches are used to be powered by LED (light-emitting display). Now, LCD (liquid crystal display) is the more frequent display used by digital watches.

The A, B, C's of Designer Watches at Discount Prices

What could be better than a brand new, never worn, designer watch at a price you can really and truly afford? Sometimes the saying "it's too good to be true" really is true! At discount prices, you don't need to wait for a holiday sale or special occasion to get yourself the watch you've always wanted.

Starting with A for Audemars Piguet, down to Z for Zenith, here is a quick rundown of designer watches, all at discount prices. From top brands like Breitling, Bvlgari, and Cartier, down to Gucci, Michele, TAG Heuer and more, see what's out there.

Audemars Piguet is known as one of the"top three" luxury watch brands in the world. AP has had immeasurable success over the years, especially with its Royal Oak collection which came out in the early 1970's and which many of its new watches are still modeled after. Known as the first high end sports watch made out of steel, the Royal Oak has left large footprints; its octagonal shape, steel edges, and use of hexagonal screws, serve as trademark features for many AP watches.

Breitling watches are mostly designed for and made for men. With large faces and hi-tech, complex functions, Breitlings are known as "instruments for professionals", and were originally made for aviation pilots. Although women can and do wear men's watches, Breitling watches typically look good on men. However, that is not to mean that women are left in the dust. There are a few models of women's watches: the Windrider Cockpit and Starliner and the Aeromarine Colt Oceane.

When you think of the word "discount" Bvlgari probably does not come to mind, however, it is very possible to own a Bvlgari watch and not pay a fortune. One of the top examples of Italian luxury, the brand Bvlgari is well known and desired, which is one reason why its watches are so popular among those that love labels; because almost every one blatantly shows the Bvlgari logo. The bezel has the word "Bvlgari" going around it, making it a true designer watch.

Like the Italians, the French are also producers of "haute couture" goods and Cartier watches are one of the best examples of this. For decades, Cartier watches, perhaps more than any other designer watch, have been found on the wrists of many people, from international royalty to modern day celebrities.

On to the letter "G." G for Gucci, the "God" of fashion. The secret to owning something Gucci? A Gucci watch. At discount prices you can easily find a Gucci watch for much less than you can a pair of Gucci pumps. Even as compared to Bvlgari and Cartier, Gucci watches sell for less but with no less bang. Many feature the prominent Gucci logo on the bracelet for all to see and admire.

Michele watches may not be as well known by name as some other designer brands, but they sure deserve mention. Michele watches are made for the confident, sexy woman that's not afraid to show it. With bold, bright colors, and cool, interchangeable straps (everything from animal print to shiny metallics), Michele watches are affordable fashion statements.

Omega watches have a long history and are great sports and "action hero" watches. With a grand array of high profile brand ambassadors like Nicole Kidman, George Clooney and Olympic champion Michael Phelps, Omega watches get their name and product out there.

TAG Heuer watches are for those that want to look good and wear a watch that can withstand some serious sweat and wear and tear. Promoted and worn by some of the world's top athletes, TAG watches are always a winning choice.

And last but not least, "Z" for Zenith. Zenith watches are known for their revolutionary mechanical workings and designs. Their innovations have resulted in over 1,000 "firsts" in the world of watchmaking. Zenith manufacturers their own mechanical movements and is particularly known for their standard movement, called the Elite and their chronograph called El Primero.

So, there you go, a quick review of some of the top designer watches. Remember, there are some things you should never pay retail for and watches are one of them!

Breitling - The Old Grow Wiser!

One hundred and twenty six is an amazing age! An age where all the teeth have fallen off and the furthest you can see is your nose! At this age, most of us will be stooped, if we have the favor of reaching there, on wheelchairs and playing cards at a tortoise pace, in some home for the aged! Though we shall be feeding on soft food, the knowledge we will have collected will be worth another lifetime.

But consider the experience of this age. The ups and downs that the age has seen, and finally the stability those one hundred and twenty six years can provide. How many schools can surely be formed to teach the experience of one hundred and twenty six years? Now imagine all that experience imparted in a budding nineteen year old! What possibilities can he achieve!

This is the experience of Breitling. Formed in eighteen eighty four, Breitling has served to perfect the art of time with its creations and innovations. Breitling has been subjected to massive stresses and strains, and has proven to be a precision instrument like no other. The machines built to perfection, are components that have been researched and manufactured to precision by hands with years of experience. These components function in an orchestrated symphony to deliver time and chronological functions including currency conversion.

What amazes about the Breitling family is the fact that so many components can be pooled together in such a tiny space and deliver beyond reproach. It controls everything including protecting itself from your movements. There is this gasket that provides water resistance that can go as far as two hundred meters. To get this meticulousness, the gaskets are fitted in a case such that the components are held securely within. This detects any sudden movements and pro-acts by providing a soft landing keeping the watches functioning even under high speeds of very low densities as in water.

This brand of watches is used by high energy athletes since they withstand massive pressure and are sure to deliver even in these times. Breitling offers two sets of watch brands, these are

1. The mechanical watches

2. The Quartz Watch

The Mechanical watches at are the most classical pieces in the world; The components and manufactured under very tight scrutiny and have to pass certain quality standards as they are dependent on proven but extremely crucial movements that have to be defined, and fluid to the settings without fail. These mechanical movements are simply rewinds once the springs are loosed enough to continue their automatic journey of endless time. With a mechanical piece, it is vastly important to take very good care against magnets, and falling. This needs good maintenance which if done, will keep you accurate to the minute.

Quartz watches are battery powered. This is the greatest difference from the Mechanical pieces. Albeit this difference, Breitling Quartz Watches include amazing functional Features.

The Breitling Navitimer - A Genuine Piece Of Aviation History

While many manufacturers make and market aviators' watches only a few can really claim to make watches that actually are. Watches like the Omega X-33 and Seamaster 120 Multifunction; the Omega Flightmaster; and the Rolex GMT. And of course, one could not fail to list the Breitling Navitimer.

The Navitimer has been in production for over 50 years. The name of this Breitling watch collection comes from the combination of the two words; Navigation and Timer. The Navitimer practically made the reputation of Breitling, certainly to the general public. It is an iconic timepiece and remains the company's most famous collection.

The design and development of the watch came about as a partnership between the company and the AOPA (Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association) in 1952. The AOPA made it its official watch and all watches made bore its official wing logo displayed on the dial. The Breitling logo and name only appeared on the case back. The first movement used was the Valjoux 72. In 1955, the movement was replaced by the Venus 178. Watches with the Valjoux 72 are rare and it is the watch most prized by collectors.

The famous circular slide rule was displayed against a black face and black subdials - the only color available then. From the 1960s on, the subdials began to be made in white and the Breitling name appeared on the face for the first time. Eventually sometime during the late 60s the AOPA wings stopped appearing on the watch face forever.

In 1962, Lt Cmdr Scott Carpenter, an astronaut in the NASA space program requested Breitling to make a Navitimer with a 24 hour watch; in space it was easy to forget whether it was day or night. The request led to the development of the Navitimer Cosmonaute - a model that is still in production and has hardly changed in over 40 years. The Cosmonaute was the first Breitling watch togotoSpace.

In the early 1970s, the watch went through some major changes (many aficionados believe the Navitimer stopped being the Navitimer at this time). The date window was introduced, they grew in size and, most importantly of all, the Venus 178 movement was replaced with the Valjoux 7740 - the movement still used today.

Today, the Navitimer collection includes the Cosmonaute, World, Montbrillant, Montbrillant Olympus, Montbrillant Datora and Chrono-Matic.

The World is the largest of the Navitimer collection with a casing diameter of 46mm. It has 25 jewels and a 2 time-zone, self-winding mechanical movement. The casing comes in steel, 18k gold or red gold.

The Montbrillant takes its name from the location of the original Breitling factory. It's a very decorative watch featuring gold hands and hour markers among other embellishments.

In 1969, Breitling developed the World's for self-winding chronograph movement, the Caliber II. The watch collection was called the Chrono-Matic and still is being produced and sold. The watch was easy recognized as the crown was placed on the left-hand-side of the casing - it still is. The watch has 38 jewels and the casing diameter is 44mm and is available in steel or 18k gold.

The Navitimer is a very special Breitling watch due to its association with the early days of aviation. It may be over 50 years old but it still looks as hi-tech and fashionable as it did when it first appeared.

Incidentally, after Lt Cmdr Scott Carpenter splashed down to earth, the watch needed to be repaired as it wasn't water tight. It was sent back to the factory in Switzerland for repair but somewhere along the way it went missing and was never found. A piece of Breitling watch history was lost forever.

Luxury Watch Companies Going "Live"

Luxury watch brands represent the one industry that has fought harder than any other against the Internet wave. Watches today are still made the same way they where hundreds of years ago; machines have not replaced people, and hours upon hours of work have not been reduced. Craftsmanship is still revered, and if you're going to be paying big bucks for a watch, you want to know that nothing about its process has been speeded up.

So really everything that the Internet represents, speed, right-away results, immediate gratification, instantaneous communication goes against the luxury watch business. However, these brands are starting to realize that if they want to stay alive and compete in the global economy, they too must have websites, Facebook pages and Twitter accounts in order to stay connected, show their new products and communicate with potential buyers.

These days it's way easier to find any kind of watch for sale through an online retailer than it is to find an actual boutique. This is good news for us, the consumers, because it means prices comes down and we can compare many options and prices online before buying the one that best suits our needs. All luxury watches, such as Cartier watches, Audemars Piguet, Breitling, TAG Heuer, Michele watches, in essence become discounted watches once they go online. This is because so much supply online forces prices to come down. So you can still get a brand new, genuine designer watch (with serial number and warranty), but you pay much less than you would if you walked into a brick and mortar retailer. While this may be to the dismay of the brands, it works to our benefit. And, if the brands stop to think about it, this may not be as bad as they would have initially thought; at least they're selling something rather than nothing. Even jewelry watches, ones made from gold and adorned in diamonds and other sparkly stones, can be found for less when looking online.

Other ways that the luxury watch industry has gone "live" so to speak is by launching iPhone applications. Not all companies have done so, but about ten or so have. Some apps are better than others; but the idea is to offer something fun and interactive for watch enthusiasts.

IWC and A. Lange & Sohne, both owned by the Richemont Group, just launched such apps available for download if you have the popular Apple iPhone.

IWC (International Watch Company) has a loyal group of followers; those that know and love IWC watches have elegant, understated taste. On its new app, the entire IWC collection is available and there is an interactive "play area" for fans; where users can simulate trying on an IWC watch.

In A. Lange & Sohne's app, the focus is on its recently released Zeitwerk timepiece, which combines a jumping hours and jumping minutes complication. To explore the complexity of this watch, users can disassemble parts of it, as well as see news and images of other Sohne watches.

Jaeger Le-Coultre also has an iPhone app but is the first of its kind to offer the following: a webcast during the immensely important and popular Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH), the annual event that takes place in Geneva ("headquarters" to all luxury watch brands) where companies get to showcase their new collections, inventions, etc.

Jaeger LeCoultre has announced that for the first time ever, if you can't be in Geneva to attend this event, you can still be part of it by joining Jaeger's webcast which takes place January 19 at 10:15AM EST. For fans of luxury watches who will not be in Geneva, this is how you can see, in real time, the new watches and collections that Jaeger will be unveiling.

Different Kinds of Luxury Watches

In today's world, the watch is not a simple apparatus that indicates or measures time. Today, the watch is an indication of status. Luxury watches combine highest levels of precision and quality with illustrious brand names. Expensive materials make up the watches: gold, platinum, and an array of crystals. Major brands like, Cartier, Breitling, Tag and many others propose the most outrageous luxury watches. Of course, the prices are far from the common store prices. Some masterpieces run into the thousands of dollars, even at discounted prices. Yet, even with their exorbitant prices, these watches find their market easily, so unique is their design and so popular is their brand name.

Watches Brands

Adhering to stringent principles of precision movement, robustness, reliability, and long-term high performance, it has acquired a reputation for the quality of its watches. These marvelous and timeless pieces are still being manufactured today, with very few modifications, showing their tremendous popularity.

Cartier Watches

The "Jeweler of Kings and the Kings of Jewelers" still make some of the most timeless time pieces ever. Cartier has a strong history and tradition of watch making dating back to 1904. All of Cartier's creations have the same finesse which accompanied their world-famous jewels. For example, the Tank Francaise Series is a historical collection by itself. Created in honor of the allied tanks of World War I, it is one of the most refined watches that one can come across. The elegantly colored dials (gold, silver, raspberry) depict the Cartier design. Roman numerals adorn the dial which is visible through a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Cartier calls its watches the "haute horlogerie" (high-class watch making). Another example of this is the Pasha Collection. The "Miss Pasha", for example, is made of blue-tinted stainless steel. The dial is rose-colored with Arabic numerals.

Breitling Watches

When one talks of Swiss watch making, the name of Breitling immediately jumps to mind. Breitling has now over 200 years of history behind it. Founded in 1884, in the heart of Switzerland, the company is world famous for its Bentley Collection, among others. Breitling watches are now considered to be a status symbol. The Bentley Collection has chronographs that outclass many of its so-called competitors. The Bentley Mark VI (named after the prestigious automobile), for example, has a round stainless steel case. The platinum bezel houses the dial which can be blue, golden, silver, white or black. The strap is made of crocodile leather. The crystal is made of scratch resistant and anti-reflective sapphire. The Aeromarine is one the newest collections by Breitling. Intended for flying as well as diving, it has a water-resistance of 1000 to 1500 m.

Breitling SuperOcean Steelfish Review

I got my Breitling SuperOcean Steelfish about 4 months ago, and I love this watch so much! I am a casual Breitling collector now with 4 Breitlings among other watches, and this is my favourite one.

The watch keeps excellent time, within COSC (Chronometre certified) specs, as it is COSC rated. The movement is a ETA 2823-2 Base, that has been extensively modified by Breitling to be well within COSC specs, so it is a fairly standard and robust movement, which is not of too much interest to hardcore Watch aficionados, but it keeps excellent time.

The bracelet is a thing of beauty... The links are held together as screws, and each piece is an individual solid piece of stainless steel, making the bracelet very moldable to your wrist, and extremely comfortable even for such a large and heavy watch. The clasp is very secure as well, unlike many clasps from Tag Heuer and other "premium" consumer brands that seem to get loose fairly quickly. For the record, not all tag clasps have been like that for me, just some.

The watch is rated to 1500 meters!! That is DEEP! there is a helium escape valve for when you go real deep, and even though I likely have no use for any of those features, but they certainly make me feel more secure about the watch.

The Crystal is very cool.. it is slightly domed sapphire that has been anti-reflective coated on both sides... it makes it look like there is no crystal there under certain lighting conditions... absolutely beautiful!

The Steelfish dial is very nice. It has concentric circles patterned on the dial, and applied markers with tritium or luminova applied for glow. The bezel is beautifully stain finished with alternating mirror polish on the side of the case and alternating on the bracelet to give it a very nice shiny yet subdued appearance.

This is truly a watch that must been seen to be appreciated. I love this watch, looks more expensive than my chronomat, my wings or my Colt Breitlings. The Chrono Avenger I had was also very imposing and nice but this Breitling SuperOcean Steelfish really takes the cake. Highly recommended.

The Breitling Emergency Watch is part of the Breitling Professional series. There are two common variations of this timepiece as well as several customized models. Along with the basic Emergency, there is the Breitling Emergency Mission.

The basic version features Breitling 76 caliber movement and is water resistant to 300 meters.

The Emergency Mission features Breitling 73 caliber movement and is also water resistant to 300 meters. The case options are titanium or 18kt. white or yellow gold.

It measures 43 millimeters in diameter, is 15.7 millimeters thick and weighs about 85 grams. The Emergency Mission comes with a steel case and measures 45 millimeters in diameter, is 19.2 millimeters thick and weighs about 156 grams.

About Swiss Army Watch Brands

The large number of brands that manufacture Swiss Army watches or Swiss watches make it rather difficult to categorize them into a ranking list. However, taking into consideration factors such as functionality and durability, we can arrive at a vague picture of the best brands in the Swiss watch industry.

Topping the list would be Victorinox given the fact that it is the official supplier to the Swiss army. It has a heritage dating back to 1884, when it began supplying knives to the army. Since then, the company has expanded drastically and became the official supplier of watches and knives to the army. Having taken over Wenger, it is now the sole supplier.

Next in line would be Breitling, the choice for professional aviators. The wide range that Breitling has, though aviator focused, leaves a lot of buyers astonished. With quartz chronographs, to fully automatic, self winding jeweled movements along with high quality materials, Breitling definitely makes its mark in the Swiss watch industry.

There are several brands that focus on elegance as well as functionality. For example, the Daytona series, while not strictly Swiss Army, is still eligible to do so as it has all the needed features to be one.

Next would probably be IWC, another Swiss watch company. This brand forms the foundation for higher end watches and focuses on precision and movements more than anything else but doesn't compromise on anything. Elegant too, but very sturdy, these watches can endure rough handling.

With the plethora of brands, one cannot discriminate easily. If you are looking for a proper Swiss watch, then Victorinox or Wenger should be your choice but by being a little more flexible, you can find something that surpasses all your expectations of a Swiss Army watch.

A Short History of Watch Jewelry

Watches are an important component of a jewelry wardrobe, most of the time the person wearing it wants to show power. When it comes to luxury watches, the name Rolex is typically the first one to come to mind, they are number on in luxury watch brand name, but there are others that are also considered luxury timepieces. Omega, Cartier and Breitling are just a few of the fine luxury watches that evoke an image of a certain status. Often crafted in solid Gold or Platinum, these watches can be adorned with diamonds and gemstones. Even stainless steel watches now come with diamonds.

Watches are not only a symbol of status, but serve as a very functional piece of jewelry as well. Watches not only tell time, but they can be equipped with a calculator, or a game, or measure speed, distance and time increments. These Chronographs watch functions become very important for certain professionals like pilots, armed forces, or even baseball coaches!

When buying a luxury watch or vintage jewelry watch, consumers need to be aware that there are many companies out there that manufacture replica or counterfeit watches specially in the black market. While a replica luxury watch may insult some makers of fine timepieces, they acknowledge the sellers being honest enough to state the watches are not real. Unfortunately, many of these companies do not disclose this information and the uneducated consumer ends up purchasing them as if they are genuine. To determine if a watch is real, a counterfeit or a replica luxury watch, checks the website of the manufacturer. A company's representative can also make that determination by comparing the model and year it was issued. They can spot subtle changes in the design or colors that most people cannot. If you want to buy a cheap luxury watch or antique jewelry watch, you should check a pawn shop, they usually have some vintage watches in their inventory, maybe not a lot because most people who owns luxury watches would not pawn his or her luxury watch.

Now, while status can be very important to some, it doesn't always have to equate to big dollars. Many fashion designers have come out with their own line of watches. These follow the trends of the luxury watch industry, making a fashion statement more attainable for the more budget conscious individuals. Designer watches are a great way to keep your wardrobe updated and current. Their affordability makes it possible to have a collection and change them as you change your mind.

Breitling Luxury Watches For Bentley - Live the Dream

For anyone who has ever dreamed of owning a Bentley, the Breitling watch company has created a full line of distinguished men's watches which are reminiscent of the Bentley's sophistication, design and British refinement. This Bentley-inspired collection, which resulted from a partnership between Breitling Watches and Bentley Motors, is a departure from Breitling's traditional association with aviation.

Below is a review of the groundbreaking Breitling for Bentley collection, which captures the elegance and styling that is quintessentially "Bentley".

* The Bentley Motors signature chronograph features knurled finishing on the bezel, inspired by the control buttons on a Bentley dashboard. The large diameter case on this chronograph has a unique mechanism called the "30-second" type, where the center hand sweeps around in only 30 seconds, rather than the customary 60, which is a feature of Breitling's Calibre 25 movement. As a tribute to the automotive world, the Bentley Motors is also equipped with a "variable tachometer", enabling the wearer to measure the average speed, distance covered, and highest speed reached.

* Breitling Bentley 6.75 WatchThe Breitling Bentley 6.75 is named after the 6.75 liter engine that powers Bentley's luxurious limos, known as Arnage. This timepiece marks the marriage between performance and tradition, just like the engine after which it was named. The large aperture calendar on this chronograph features a highly readable date through two separate indicators and the case design, dial workmanship and precision assembly complements its refined aesthetic. Like the Bentley motors, the bezel is adorned with the knurled characteristic motifs, reminiscent of a Bentley interior. Choose from steel, yellow gold or a limited edition of rose gold finishes.

* Bentley Motors T is known for its more sporting design, with subtly alternating satin brushed finishing on top and polished surfaces along the sides. On the case back, this chronograph features a raised engraving that depicts three legendary Bentleys: the R-Type Continental, the Continental GT, and the Speed 6. Like these classic automobiles, the Breitling Bentley Motors T chronograph offers an elegant mix of performance and style.

* Paying homage to motor sports, Breitling's Bentley GT chronograph is reinterpreted in a more sophisticated model - the Bentley GT Racing. The subtle contrast of finely brushed metals with polished edges, this version features a "Speed" bracelet and a medallion on the case back that depicts a Bentley Continental GT silhouette.

* The Bentley GMT is an inspired, boldly designed chronograph which has been called a "wrist sculpture" by many. A single sweep integrates the curve of the case into the wristband, which results in a highly original lug design. A contemporary, black rubber strap and the "totalizer" rims on the dial are truly inspired by the dashboard of a Bentley. Featuring a multiple time zone display and a rotating inner bezel that bears the name of 24 cities at a glance, the GMT is born to travel. Available in steel and precious red-gold version, and in the Speed bracelet or GMT rubber strap, this timepiece is a shining star in Breitling's Bentley collection.

* Breitling's Mulliner Tourbillon is named after the Bentley workshop known for creating cars that define luxury, and Bentley connoisseurs appreciate the sophistication and precision of this model. This rare watch is a genuine collectors' item, since only a few dozen will be made over the coming years, but for devotees of complex chronographs, this exclusivity makes them all the more desirable. Fully customizable, these watches allow the future owner to choose from platinum, rose gold, yellow gold and white cold case metals, as well as the color of the dial and crocodile leather strap. Utilizing the highest standards of precision watch making, each finely crafted Mulliner Tourbillon is a unique work of art.

Word To The Wise - Recognizing The Components of a Luxury Watch

Numerous advertisements use the word "luxury" to describe the products that they are trying to sell. Many of these types of advertisements use that word loosely, so the general public may be bewildered without a right understanding of the use of the term by the advertisers. Consumers generally should be wary of the accuracy of such descriptions.

The purchasers should beware since this luxury watch may be an extravagant, mechanical wonder and on the other hand it could be a brilliant replica of this miracle. Designer Watches

You want a watch, a good watch, as you have a good-paying job and you can afford more than Timex offers. You want something that will last you a lifetime and the lifetimes of your great-great-grandchildren. This watch will tell people that you not only have style and class, but also the ability to afford the best that the world has to offer. At least as far as timepieces are concerned. So, what brands are out there? How do you tell a great designer watch from a good or fair one? What features are offered with the different watches? Is there any difference as the price goes up? All these questions need to be well researched and pondered before a purchase is made. Without proper study, you may make a very expensive mistake.

There are many brands that are considered designer or luxury. Rolex is the big name in the industry. This name has meant quality for many years and has, in some ways, set the standard for high-end watches. Cartier and Omega are not far behind in recognition. Some of the lesser-known watch manufacturers do not make as many watches as the big three. However, it is difficult to go wrong with Movado, Tag Heuer, Baume, or Patek Phillipe. All of these watch brands and many more offer luxury and incredible design. The questions for you to consider are style, and price.

As with all consumer goods, some are better than others. The good watches still maintain the quality that one expects from a designer watch. The International Watch Company does not have a recognizable name outside of watch aficionados, but they make serviceable timepieces that are known for their precision.

The Franck Muller Company makes watches that have caught the attention of many in the industry for complex works. Great watches are also numerous. What sets them apart? Patek Phillipe and Breitling watches are already considered to be on par with Rolex and Cartier. These watches offer a style and consistent reliability that have given them a name in the industry. Panerai and Oris are relatively young brand names (though both are over one hundred years old), that have won recognition for their precision.

The difference between a good watch and a great watch is sometimes miniscule. However, when it comes to accuracy of movement and creative style, there is definitely a difference. A company has to be around for a long time to establish its credentials. Some brands also fall into another category. Either because of a recent downward trend, or because they have consistently had issues with newer watches, they have become overrated. Tag Heuer and Movado, for example, are more about spending large amounts of money on advertising than producing high quality watches.

Price only makes a difference when you consider the materials used. Every designer watchmaker offers their wares at different price levels. A great manufacturer maintains quality throughout its line. And as for amenities, they are as diverse as the brand names. Any of the top manufacturers will offer something that you can use proudly.

The Chronomat B01 is Breitling's Latest Foray

The Chronomat B01 is Breitling's latest foray into the luxury watch market and - as always - they have made quite a positive impression with this noteworthy mechanical timepiece.

It features a unique, powerful and quintessentially classic Breitling design as well as pinpoint self-winding movement that is completely made in house.

This high-end timepiece is designed specifically for those whose top concerns (aside from aesthetics and style) are functionality, reliability and precision.

While the case of the watch is designed for comfort and a "can't even feel it" connection to the wrist, it also delivers extraordinary shock and impact resistance, water resistance, and an unmatched sturdy strength for a watch of this caliber.

Matching the case, the sporty looking bracelets on the B01 are designed with easily mobile lugs that ensure that comfort and a perfect fit on the wrist will be achieved.

It has a rotating unidirectional bezel for aeronautical and diving purposes and, along the same lines, it has an easily readable face thanks in part to its luminescent engraved hour marking numerals.

The arrival of the Breitling B01 is in many ways the product of the continuous evolution and innovation of the Breitling brand. Breitling started making chronographs in 1884. It made the first chronograph wristwatch thirty-one years later that featured three different chronograph functions: start, stop and reset, that were located separately from the crown of the watch. Improvement and improvement and innovation after innovation lead to the year 1969, when Breitling famously launched the Chronomatic Caliber 11, which was the first self-winding chronograph movement in history. And these forerunning accomplishments have essentially led to their present achievement - the B01, which puts Breitling in the exclusive and rare company of watch manufacturers that have their own mechanical chronograph movement. This genuinely marks a new era for an already storied brand.

One of the most noteworthy qualities of the Breitling B01 is how it manages to combine its elegant design features with its technical and mechanical mastery.

There is a good amount of variety in this collection with dials that can feature colors that are metallic or matte, bold or understated, which allows the buyer to find a B01 that correlates to his own unique style sense.

There are four versions of the Breitling B01: all-gold, all steel, steel with a bezel with four gold markers on the bezel, and steel with a gold bezel. But every model in their entire collection is assured to have four unifying descriptive features: reliability, sturdiness, precision and aesthetic sophistication.

The B01 is simply one of the best and most noteworthy timepieces Breitling has ever introduced.

Which Luxury Watch Company Has the Hottest Brand Spokespeople?

Any brand selling any product will do better if they have a famous face behind it. Granted, if you are famous then one will only ally him or herself with brands that are respected, well-known and can afford to pay well for getting the rights to plaster a famous face next to whatever it is selling, whether it be water (Jennifer Aniston for SmartWater), shoes (all those that have at one point or another endorsed Nike), and in this case, luxury watches.

Luxury watch brands have all the qualities that put them in a position to be able to pay the (typically) millions of dollars that they do to all types of celebrities. These qualities include solid reputations, rich histories (almost every single one comes from Switzerland or another European country), and the use of high-quality and exclusive precious metals and stones, all which result in the production of something that can cost up to hundreds of thousands of dollars: a luxury men's watch or a luxury women's watch.

Here is a review of four watch brands that have celebrity spokespeople of all kinds. Some you will know immediately, some you may know the face but not the name and others, you may not know at all. Who is the hottest? Which luxury watch brand has the best group of spokespeople? You decide.

I would say that every ambassador for Movado is well-known, hands down. Movado watches are sleek and elegant and can be sporty as well (hence the last three male ambassadors mentioned here).

Actress Kerry Washington; you may not immediately know her name but will instantly recognize her face. She is most known for her performance in the movie "Ray" which came out in 2004 and was signed to Movado in 2005.

Actress and former child model Amanda Seyfried (her name may be unfamiliar but as soon as you see her face, you're like "oh yeah!") is the youngest of Movado's ambassadors. She has appeared in the movies "Maama Mia!" and "Mean Girls" and stars in the HBO series "Big Love" this season.

Mikhail Baryshnikov, the name needs little introduction; he's one of the most talented dancers of all time and has been a Movado Ambassador since 2004.

Wynton Marsalis, jazz trumpeter and Grammy award winner, is Movado's longest-running spokesmen having been with the brand since 1998.

Now, here come the athletes: tennis super star Pete Sampras, baseball player Derek Jeter and football QB Tom Brady are all Movado spokesmen who represent the brand's more sporty collections like the Movado Series 800 as well as its men's luxury collection like the ESQ.

Half of Omega ambassadors need no introduction as they are huge stars in their respective fields. Cindy Crawford, Nicole Kidman, George Clooney, Michael Phelps, James Bond and Michael Schumacher all "work" for Omega in addition to their "day jobs". Lesser known ambassadors (in the U.S. at least) is Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi, Indian actor Abhishek Bachchan and Russian swimmer Alexander Popov. However, the strength that these spokespeople have is that in their countries of origin they are super well know and more and more luxury watch brands are closing boutiques in the U.S. and Europe and heading toward places like Asia, the Middle East and Russia.

TAG Heuer is similar to Omega in that it has internationally known stars promoting its brand, mixed with men and women specifically known in their countries. TAG recently opened its eighth store in the Middle East and is obviously focusing on growth in this part of the world, so should soon be adding a famous Arab face to its roster.

Tiger Woods, Maria Sharapova and Leonardo DiCaprio are mega stars. Other TAG ambassadors include the Finnish race car drivers Heikki Kovalainen and Kimi Räikkönen, and Indian actor Shah Rukh Khan. Longines is yet another Swiss luxury watch brand whose motto is that "elegance is an attitude," therefore its spokespeople are called Ambassadors of elegance.

Longines has two of the most recognized (not to mention married to each other) tennis celebrities ever: Andre Agassi and Stefi Graf, but then there are a handful of lesser known (way lesser known) ambassadors as well, among them Lithuanian actress Ingeborga Dapkunaite, Aaron Kwok Fu Shing, who is known as the "Michael Jackson of Hong Kong" and Indian beauty Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who in 1994 won the title of "Miss World", and has been a Longines ambassador for 10 years.

The strategy of having both super well known and lesser known (in the U.S.) spokespeople is a marketing concept that has worked well for the luxury watch business. As for which of these spokespeople is the hottest depends on your own personal taste.

Gone are the days when the view on wrist watch is just a simple accessory with one single purpose. Watches - Keeping Fine Watches in Fine Form

High quality watches typically cost a large quantity of money, and it is unlikely, unless the watch's owner is filthy rich and equally careless with his wealth, that an expensive watch will be tossed aside after a few years. The highest quality watches, from Rolexes to Bvlgaris, will likely be treasured for a generation or more. Even the highest quality watches, however, require regular servicing, which may mean a simple battery change or something more extensive, such as changing the rubber gaskets on a waterproof watch. How should a fancy watch owner go about finding a good service center, and what sort of servicing might be required?

First, before you take your precious watch, which cost you gobs of money, in for servicing at a local service center, check your owner's manual. Some watch companies service their own products while others contract with service centers to make repairs. These authorized service centers will have the parts needed to repair your watch immediately available, they will be very familiar with the brand and the procedures for servicing it, and they will be regulated by the watchmakers to a certain extent. Taking your watch to an unauthorized service center could lead to lengthy or, even worse, shoddy repairs that will harm the integrity of your family heirloom.

When should expensive watches be sent in for repairs? First and foremost, check your owner's manual for the watch manufacturer's recommended servicing schedule. Mechanical watches typically need to be serviced more often, meaning once every couple of years. Otherwise, they may lose their accuracy or water-resistance. Quartz analog watches require less servicing than mechanical watches. Some basic servicing needs to be done every couple of years accompanying battery changes, but they won't need a full servicing for six to ten years. A full digital quartz watch doesn't actually require any servicing except for a change of batteries.

While the time and continual investment required for keeping a high quality watch in tip top shape is more than one might expect, expensive watches have an undeniable appeal. For wealthy adventurers, the $3,500 Breitling Emergency watch sends an SOS signal to a search and rescue station close by and will lead to a search and rescue operation by aircraft to find you. If you're a stylish heiress who is unlikely to require rescuing, you might be interested in the $65,000 Patek Philippe dress watch with 264 hand set, high quality baguette diamonds. While most of us can only dream of owning such watches, it is important for the lucky few who do own high quality watches to keep their possessions in the best shape possible to preserve for future generations.

Breitling Blackbird (Ref A44359) - Windrider Series

Talking today about my most recent purchase, the Breitling Blackbird from the Windrider Series, and the watch that is defiantly 'front row' at the moment when not sat proudly on my wrist, although that is always the case with new buys (well for a few months at least!).

Have to say Breitling is not my favourite brand, I do find many of their pieces a little too fussy for my liking, although I have owned a few Breitlings in the past and the pieces that I have had and the ones that I have today have been among my favourite watches. I currently have just two pieces, this one and another recent purchase, a Superocean Heritage 38 from the Auqumarine range which was bought new at the back end of 2007

The Blackbird that I'm talking about today is the second generation of this watch, I had the first generation Blackbird which was a year 2000 model that I had picked up 2nd hand. I really liked the first model I had but as soon as I saw the revamped version the old just had to go and make the way for the new!

The Blackbird sits within the Windrider series which I believe was formerly the Chronoliner and Nightflight collections which were amalgamated into this series. Most watches in the Windrider series are characterized by a dome shaped crown and the bezel with rider tabs (small rectangular raised tabs mounted on the bezel at the 3, 6, 9, & 12 positions).

The design and quality through the Breitling ranges is unquestionable and this Blackbird is no exception, this really is a beautiful watch! This version of the Blackbird was released in 2007 and a replacement for the original Blackbird range which ran from 1995 to 2004 and is a smaller/lighter watch. The new model comes with a Breitling 44 automatic movement that has a Big Date and Chronograph complication and it has a 42 hour power reserve. The case is brushed stainless steel which has a diameter of just over 43mm and a thickness of 17mm. The case back has also had a revamp and I really do like the design with 'Blackbird' embezzled across the centre. The Bezel is unidirectional, there is a screw-locked crown and the crystal is Sapphire. The dial is really a nice looking thing, one of the things that is a move from the older version of the Blackbird is the location of the Date which has shifted from the right side of the dial to the centre under the 12. I really do like the location of the date and think it offers something different and provides more symmetry to the dial, personally the date is not a must for me on a watch but there again I won't dismiss a piece just because there is a date present and this watch defiantly falls into one not to be dismissed! The Batons and Hands are Superluminova. I also really like the Bracelet on this watch which is a Breitling Pilot and comes in brushed stainless steel to match the case. The 20mm wide clasp is also brushed stainless steel and there is a flip lock that is marked with the classic wings and Breitling logo.

The fit and finish on the Blackbird is excellent and in my opinion it is not too fussy like many Breitlings can be, it is truly a lovely watch that oozes style and character.

Vintage Watches

The vintage watch market is vast and also a very detailed and sometimes complex area to invest in. No matter if you are a new to the pre owned watch market and are buying a piece or two for pleasure or if you are a seasoned watch collector with years of experience and a substantial collection. You are going to need knowledge and you are going to need to persist in learning, perhaps indefinitely.

There are many different areas of vintage watch types that you may need to gain knowledge in..

Movements and complications.

This is definitely one of the most detailed areas, from simple chronograph features to multiple time zones through to tourbillons and everything in between. Automatics to manual wind pieces. Eta and Valjoux. The movements are the heart of the watch, and are as varied in available selection as the variety of outer appearance.

Brands and watch houses.

Everywhere from new brands to centuries old watch houses. Breitling to Panerai, from Patek Phillipe to Vacheron Constantine. The number of of names is huge and ever growing. Each has its own history and theme.

Era and innovation.

Movements today have evolved from movements of years passed. Such is said of many forms of mechanical design. A vintage watch movement of the 1960's may be significantly different to a movement from the 1930's. Though they may have a lot in common at face value, there may be revolutionary changes to the trained and informed.

Original condition and limited editions.

An area that is very important to gain knowledge in before purchasing a vintage watch is the original features and variations released on the watch you are considering. The "after market" area of vintage watches is an immensely important aspect of pre owned watches. So many people buy watches and customize them or have them repaired with unoriginal parts, that it is an area of great importance that could make or break a deal on a watch. A common occurrence is the changing of original crystal screens with thinner more modern, and to be fair, stronger sapphire crystal screens. Now this may seem like a good idea at the time, but it also negates the originality of the watch and greatly affects value. Changing dial colors or designs is another common area of modification. Imagine your dismay when you learn that the 1965 blue dial watch you just purchased was only released in black or silver dial versions and your watch is greatly reduced in value due to a previous owners whim and preference.

Diamond bezels are another common addition. There was a time when Rolex only put full diamond bezels on its full precious metal pieces. Only partial diamond bezels were allowed on two tone editions and under no circumstance were diamond bezels produced on stainless steel pieces. This lead to an incredible amount of people paying independent jewelers to attach a diamond bezel to their stainless steel Rolex. As attractive as this added feature may be in some cases, it also completely eradicated the integrity of the watch. It also caused problems with the warranty and any kind of service by Rolex. The company at hand only allows watch makers certified by them to work upon their watches to prevent any unnecessary internal damage that may be caused accidentally by an untrained watch maker working on their watches.I personally think this is completely fair, after all why should Rolex pick up the repair costs under warranty terms for damage that has been caused by an untrained third party?

Rolex is not the only company or brand who have legitimate concerns with the after market modification problem. Pretty much every brand does and it is strongly advised that you only buy watches that fit the standard release specs and have been repaired by the individual watch houses preferred technicians.

Now of course, there is never any certain way to make sure your watch has never been worked on by watch makers uncertified by that specific watch house, but you will find that most owners of vintage watches tend to take care when it comes to their watches warranty and integrity.

Your next area of knowledge, should of course be a local reputable dealer. There are plenty of vintage watch dealers, and a little bit of research online with watch forums and review sites will give you a decent foundation in that respect.

Buying a vintage watch can be a fun and rewarding experience, one that you will most likely repeat. Very few people tend to stop at one vintage watch, most move on to building a collection.

Good luck with finding your dream vintage watch!

Review of Breitling Montbrillant Watches

If there are any watches that should be known for all the watch collectors, Breitling Navitimer should be among one of them.

Introduced in 1952, Breitling Navitimer is one of the flagship watch lines of Breitling. Design for pilots, the watches feature a built-in slide rule, which is useful for pilots to calculate the speed, elapsed time and distance.

Of the numerous variants of Breitling Navitimer, the Montbrillant may be one of the less known models. Montbrillant was actually the name of a mountain where Breitling built its first factory. To paid tribute to the proud tradition of Breitling Navitimer, the Montbrillant also features an integral slide rule. Besides, the watch display a date window between 4 o'clock and 5 o'clock, which is not common in watch designs.

Being a precision instrument, Breitling Navitimer Montbrillant is a 4-counter chronograph itself. Here are their respective functions: The middle counter displays the 1/100th of an hour, which is a design from the 1940s; the 3 o'clock counter indicates 24-hour military time; the 6 o'clock counter shows hours and the 9 o'clock counter shows seconds.

Overall, the Breitling Navitimer Montbrillant is a blend of audacious design and the professionalism tradition. It comes with various dials with different colors and matching strap (made of alligator leather or stainless steel), so it can be worn in both formal and casual occasions.

Many people, even they are not pilots, are fond of such watch because of its attractive appearance. Since most of us won't use the counter function, so a replica Breitling Montbrillant watch can meet our daily use. What's more, if you choose to buy a Breitling Montbrillant replica watches, you can save thousands of money as a genuine Montbrillant cost about $7000 dollars while a replica watch only cost you about $100.

The Seiko Watch - A Stylish Watch From Asia

When looking for a stylish watch, there are many things that one should consider. Price is, of course, an important factor, but no less important is the look of the watch and its efficiency. Those looking for a stylish Asian watch should thus look into purchasing a Seiko watch.

A History of the Seiko Watch and the Seiko Corporation

The Seiko Corporation which produces Seiko watches, is a Japanese watch company that was started by Kintaro Hattori in 1881. This first shop was both a jewelry and a watch shop, and it was located in Japan's Ginza area. In 1892, Hattori expanded his line of products to also include clocks, manufactured under the name of Seikosha.

Despite having produced watches in the latter part of the 19th century, the first watches that were specifically known as Seiko watches did not appear on the market until 1924. A Seiko watch names the Seiko Astron was introduced onto the market in 1969. This watch was indeed notable, as it was the first production quartz watch. As such, it was quite expensive, costing the same amount that a medium-sized car at the time would.

The Seiko Watch Today

Seiko watches today are used for a number of important events. Most notably, the Olympic games have used these watches as their official timekeepers because they are known to be amazingly accurate.

Although the Seiko Corporation produces many different styles of watches, the most popular type of Seiko watch is the wristwatch. Since this company is one of only a few that manufacture every facet of the watch in-house, these watches are known also for their advanced technology.

The Seiko brand manufactures both mechanical and quartz watches. Some of types of Seiko watches require no battery at all, as they are powered by everyday wear. Seiko watches vary according to price, with the cheapest generally being under $100 and the most expensive costing several thousand dollars.

If one is a collector of these watches, it should be noted that the Seiko Corporation does not make every type of watch available in every area. Indeed, there are many types of these watches that are only available in Asia.

If one is looking into purchasing a Seiko watch, one should first consult the phonebook for reputable watch dealers, or the internet. Indeed, this type of watch is the ideal choice for those looking for a watch that is both attractive and efficient.

The Breitling Windrider Watch - A Review Of Current Models

The Breitling Windrider collection was formerly the Chronoliner and Nightflight collections that have now been amalgamated into this collection. There are quite a few models to choose from including men's and ladies' watches as well as automatic mechanical and quartz movements. Here's a quick run-down of various watches on offer.

I've been a huge fan of Breitling watches for many years. I stumbled across them after I'd made up my mind to buy a Tag Heuer watch and went into a store buy one. A very knowledgeable store assistant asked me to take a look at Breitling as well. After quickly comparing both watches I just fell in love with the slightly classic look and robust lines of the Breitling watch. I bought one and have loved wearing it ever since; it looks just as good as when I wear it with a business suit or when I'm relaxing in the garden in shorts and tee-shirt.

Most watches in the Windrider collection characterized by a dome shaped crown and bezel with rider tabs (small rectangular, raised tabs mounted on the bezel at the 3,6,9, and 12 position). The collection contains the Chronomat Evolution, which was previously just called the Chronomat and is the best-selling Breitling watch.

Unlike the Navitimer collection, which by necessity of the slide rule, is on the large size, the sizes of the watches in the Windrider collection vary from smallish to large and the collection features some nice ladies' watches.

Most of the watches have automatic, mechanical movements, however some, especially the ladies' watches, have a quartz movement - I've been told that making complicated mechanical movements small enough for a ladies watch is very hard and would make the price of a watch extremely expensive.

The Chronomat Evolution is the flagship watch of Breitling and is its number one best seller. It was originally created to equip the famous Frecce Tricolori flight team of the Italian airforce. Over the years the watch has evolved aesthetically and technically. Some would arguethat the currunt Evolution watch is the most accomplished to date. The present design has beenin production since 2005. Like most watches in the collection, it has 3 subdials; second hand, 10 minute interval and 3 hour interval. The dials are placed at the 6, 9 and 12 o'clock positions. The mechanical movement is the ETA Valjoux 7750. The casing diameter is 43.7mm and is 17.1mm thick.

The Chronomat Blackbird has a brushed finish unlike the polished finish of the other Chronomat watches. The matte black dial is also in contrast the typical gloss dials of this collection. All this gives the watch a very understated appearance. The casing diameter is 39.8mm with a thickness of 14.8mm. The movement and dial placement is the same as the Evolution.

The Crosswind is a more lavish affair, with an elaborate raised dial face complete with Roman numerals; the numerals and the six hands are luminous. Some versions come with diamonds mounted on the bezel. Again, dial placement and movement are the same as the Evolution.

The Callistino is a Breitling ladies watch. It features a quartz movement and diamonds mounted on the dial face at the hour markers. The casing diameter is 29mm and is 10.6mm thick. The Callisto is another ladies watch. Its main point of interest is the absence of subdials, thought the date aperture remains at the 3 o'clock position. Again, it features a quartz movement. For those wanting a mechanical movement, the Chrono Callisto should fit the bill. The movement is a Lemania 1873. However, this movement is not automatic. The mechanical movement also makes this ladies watch a little larger; the casing is 35mm wide. There are 3 subdials.

Finally, my favorite Breitling watch, the Windrider Shadow Flyback - it's the model I bought instead of the Tag Heuer. It has an ETA 2892-A2 movement featuring chronograph and a flyback feature (stop watch secondhand return to zero). The subdials are what as known as a tri compax configuration - positioned at the 3, 6 and 9 o'clock position. What I also like is that the date aperture appears between 4 and 5 o'clock.

TAG Heuer is Now a Luxury Phone Maker

Since 1860 TAG Heuer has been making luxury watches, specifically sporty looking chronographs, but lately it seems as though this Swiss company is making more luxury cellular phones than it is men's and women's watches.

In September of this year TAG released the Meridiist to not so rave reviews. There is a huge variety of cell phones to choose from and when it came to basic specs, the Meridiist didn't go above and beyond (except of course in looks and price tag). It came with a 1.9" QVGA main screen, monochrome OLED on its outer rim, 2-megapixel camera, MP3/AAC/MPEG-4 playback, and 7 hours of battery time, which is standard in most phones. It's made of corrosion-resistant, watch-making steel and comes with a back of crocodile, leather or rubber; all reflective of that fact that it is branded: TAG Heuer, as these are common materials used in the bands and straps of luxury watches. Who came up with the price of $5,300 to $6,100 is the question?

There are many TAG watches that are available for less than this. In fact, practically every TAG collection of men's and women's watches has pieces for way under $5,000. Check out the TAG Heuer Aquaracer, Carrera, Grand Carrera and Formula 1 collections to see what I mean.

Soon after releasing the Meridiist, TAG came up with a way to make it better, fancier, more exclusive; basically to add some bling and jack up the price tag. The same phone which was selling for $5,000 and up is now going for between $10,000 and $30,000. What?! It's common knowledge that luxury watches can sell for this amount, but who's heard of a cell phone entering this price range. Called the Meridiist Diamant, the phones are available in two styles; one with 208 diamonds or the "imperial regalia of mobile phones" and one with 1232 diamonds. TAG Heuer admitted that these phones would be marketed toward women. And to make this phone seem like a piece of coveted jewelry, TAG was placing each Meridiist Diamant in a wooden jewelry box, "in which to preserve and store your investment for future generations." Saving diamonds is one thing, but come on; the idea of saving a cell phone for the next generation is ridiculous being that the technology changes and gets constantly upgraded.

So, now fast forward almost two months later and TAG Heuer launches yet another version of its Meridiist cell phone, this time really upping the ante (aka the price tag) by partnering with Italian luxury automobile brand Lamborghini.

Called the TAG Heuer MERIDIIST Automobili Lamborghini, only 1,963 of these quad-band Bluetooth phones will be sold worldwide. The number is a tribute to the year that Lamborghini was founded.

The inspiration for the phone's design comes from the Murcielago (which means "bat") by Lamborghini; one of its sleekest, fastest and most exclusive cars. The phone measures about 4.5 inches by 1.8 inches, has an above-average battery life: seven hours of talk time or 28 days of standby power. Standard cell phone features include a WAP 2.0 Web browser, a 2-megapixel camera, and 2GB of internal memory.

The handset is made from "black titanium carbide coated 316L stainless steel" and has the Murcielago signature on the battery cover, which is similar to the one seen on this car's LP 640's V12 engine block. The case is made from brushed stainless steel (a metal often used in TAG watches) and has a "backlit mechanical stainless steel keypad customized with Automobili Lamborghini's trademark Taurus bull on the steel central button." The display is made from scratch resistant sapphire crystal, another common feature of luxury watches. The phone is built by ModeLabs.

As of now, you can reserve one of these new phones through select TAG Heuer and Lamborghini retail locations. It comes in different colors of real leather or alligator skin, but so far there is no price listed. Hopefully, it's closer in price range to a TAG Heuer watch than a Lamborghini!

You can learn more about all the Meridiist phones on the official TAG Heuer website.
