  徒步驴友发现3吨重玛纳斯“碧玉”求收购 鉴定机构负责人表示该石不能明确判断为碧玉

  近日,一个在玛纳斯县徒步旅行的驴友,竟然捡到了一块3吨重的“碧玉”!如果按目前普通碧玉1500元/公斤的价格计算,该块碧玉值450万元.若以极品碧玉10000元/公斤的价格计算,则其价可达3000万元.

  不过记者了解到,品质佳的碧玉极少,这也造成其大批量以高端时尚配饰进入消费市场,价格与和田白玉相比有10倍以上的差距.

  驴友发现3吨重“碧玉”

  据新疆网8月31日报道,一名徒步经过玛纳斯县的旅行者王天凯无意发现了一块长2.7米、宽1.3米、厚0.65米、颜色呈深灰绿的碧玉.

  据王天凯称,将玉石的一小部分送到了新疆岩矿宝玉石产品质量监督检验站进行鉴定,鉴定证书上显示,该碧玉的主要成分是透闪石岩原料,光性特征是非均质集合体,折射率为1.61,内部特征呈现纤维交织结构,具有玛纳斯玉的特征.

  记者电话咨询了新疆岩矿宝玉石产品质量监督检验站的李忠志站长,她在查阅鉴定底单后告诉记者,王天凯拿到检验站鉴定的是一块20克的石块,估计是从边缘敲下的小部分,鉴定结果并非“碧玉”而是“透闪石原料”.“如果达到玉的标准,能达到碧玉的标准就会写碧玉.那块3吨重的玉石到底是不是碧玉,不能明确判断.”李忠志说,其一鉴定的标本太小了,其二是他们并没有见到原石.

  “透闪石是组成碧玉最基础的成分,原石是否全部达到玉的标准、是不是碧玉都不好说.有可能这块大石没有完全达到玉的标准.”李忠志说,不过捡到3吨的碧玉的可能性不是很大,应该说王天凯确实很有“玉缘”了.

  中国玉雕大师郭海军告诉记者,理论上讲应该存在“捡”到碧玉的可能,而且3吨的碧玉并不算罕见:“碧玉产地很多,外国的俄罗斯、加拿大,中国的和田、台湾、玛纳斯,都有出产.清水河一带我去过,离玛纳斯几十公里.”

  不过,他表示“眼见方为实”:“这些地方有无数人走过,轻易捡到的可能性比较小.当然我们不排除那些没人去过的或者海拔高的地方.”

  碧玉6~7年价翻10倍左右

  碧玉是玉石中的有色玉种,近6~7年价格飞涨.郭海军认为:“第一是和田白玉价格涨了,带动其他玉石,其二是和田白玉价格高了,很多人只能转而购买其他‘替代品种’.”

  碧玉的结构和和田白玉相似,但是颜色偏绿,而且产量大,等级高的极少;碧玉颜色跟翡翠属于同类色,但不能等同,不过有的发烧友认为碧玉呈绿色,有吉祥、长寿、绿树长青的意头,所以碧玉的手镯、瓜果件很受市场欢迎.

  在多个产地中,玛钠斯碧玉发黑发灰,颜色较差,而俄罗斯碧玉块头大、绿色佳.加拿大碧玉和俄罗斯碧玉同样属于碧玉中较好的品种,上世纪90年代时受行内所喜爱,而到了上世纪90年代末时可以发现,国内最大的碧玉加工基地河南用得最多的是俄罗斯碧玉了.郭海军透露,每年流向新疆的俄罗斯碧玉数量很大;台湾产的“分钱玉”和马拉斯碧玉非常接近,近年不少台湾商人在俄罗斯收购囤积碧玉并加工后销售到内地.

  “玉石的价值不在于大小,在于品质.”郭海军说,碧玉最大的可达十几吨,很可能是运输不便,自然界很多东西不为人所知:“不要说3吨的碧玉,就算是30吨都有可能存在,但可能是发现不了,或者运输不了.”

  但能达到收藏级的碧玉并不多,更多玉料被制作为时尚的消费品、高档的配饰品,郭海军认为它们的价位和品质还达不到奢侈品的等级.因此,尽管近几年价格飞涨,碧玉的价格和和田白玉还是有很大的差距.和田白玉价格比碧玉高10倍以上.据了解,目前好的和田白玉价格为10万~30万元/公斤之间,碧玉平均水平为1500元/公斤左右,顶级的可达1万元/公斤.

LONDON – Foundry chip maker Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd. now foresees the start of volume production of ICs on 450-mm diameter wafers in 2018, according to local reports that reference J.K.Wang, TSMC's vice president for operations speaking ahead of the Semicon Taiwan exhibition and conference. The reports said that TSMC believes pilot lines could be running in 2016 or 2017.

TSMC had said early in 2011 that it was working to have a pilot line running 20-nm silicon on 450-mm wafers in 2013-2014 and the first dedicated 450-mm wafer fab in 2015-2016.

Wang said TSMC has completed its planning for 450-mm wafer production and that it would begin volume production on the large wafers in 2018.

Leading chip makers Intel, TSMC and Samsung have each invested in leading lithography equipment maker ASML Holding NV to try and speed up the transition to 450-mm wafers and to have a 450-mm wafer capable extreme ultra-violet lithography machine ready as soon as possible.

Though several development programs are underway, including the G450C program, it is uncertain when all of the necessary tools will be in place to support 450-mm wafers. Wang reportedly said TSMC would complete specification setting for 450-mm tools in 2014 or 2015 and set up pilot lines in 2016 or 2017 prior to volume in 2018.

The Taiwan Economic News reported that Burn Lin, TSMC's vice president of R&D, speaking at the same press conference ahead of Semicon Taiwan, said that TSMC will begin volume production of FinFET transistors at the 20-nm process node and is on the track to deploy a full FinFET process at the 16-nm node. Lin reportedly added that TSMC will use immersion lithography for 16-nm and 10-nm production but that multi e-beam lithography is a candidate for a 10-nm FinFET process.

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Intel Corp. announced positive results from a year-long test of a novel system that cools servers by immersing them in mineral oil. The CarnotJet vat from Green Revolution Cooling (Austin, Texas) delivered a cooling power usage effectiveness (PUE) rating of 1.02-1.03 without impacting performance of the seven dual-socket Xeon servers, Intel said.

The results suggest the oil vats require only two to three percent additional energy than the servers themselves. By contrast, a typical data center runs at a cooling PUE as high as 1.6, meaning the non-IT systems require 60 percent in additional energy beyond the power needed to run the servers.

Some companies such as Facebook have opened new data centers in areas where they can use ambient air to cool their systems, eliminating the costs of air conditioning. But they are not the targets for the oil-immersion systems.

“If you are going to add a significant amount of capacity and have systems with a lot of density and don’t have good air flow in your data center, this is worth looking at,” said Mike Patterson, a senior thermal architect for data centers at Intel who supervised the test.

The Texas Advanced Computing Center is one data center that fits that description. It has been testing the same technology for several years. But oil immersion is not for everyone.

“We probably have ten different advanced cooling technologies we are analyzing…each has its pros and cons, and each market has different priorities,” said Patterson.

LONDON – In a return to the 20th century days of electromechanical computation IBM and STMicroelectronics are working on a project to enable a low-power processor made from nanometer-scale mechanical relays.

The European Commission likes the idea and has put IBM Research Zurich in charge of a European research project that aims to produce a logic process that is based on nanometer-scale relays that remain compatible with conventional CMOS transistor logic. The advantage of such a system would be much lower off-state power consumption as leakage current would be considerably reduced.

Alongside IBM and STMicroelectronics NV (Geneva, Switzerland) are academic researchers from the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne, Kungliga Tekniska Hoegskolan (KTH), and the universities of Bristol and Lancaster.

The three-year collaborative research project has a budget of 3.96 million euro (about $5.0 million) of which the European Commission is providing 2.44 million euro (about $3.1 million).

The motivation for the research is that as transistors have been miniaturized leakage power consumption is becoming as large as active power consumption and this is a particular issue for emerging applications such as autonomous sensors nodes, wireless communications and mobile computing.

The NEMIAC (Nano-Electro-Mechanical Integration And Computation) project aims to develop a process based on what it calls nano-electromechanical (NEMS) switches suitable for embedded systems and offering 3-D integration with CMOS. The researchers are being asked to show a magnitude improvement in energy efficiency with no performance penalty compared with solid-state. The process is also expected to have higher radiation resistance and higher temperature operation than CMOS.

The relays are expected to have a footprint of less than 3-micron by 3-micron and demonstrate a switching time of the order of 10 nanoseconds. Prooving the reliability under billions of switching operations will be an important task prior to commercial deployment. The project is expected to produce a number of digital logic designs as proof of the process and innovative circuit architectures for low-power applications. In parallel design and simulation methodologies are going to be developed to aid exploration of the design-space and demonstrate the feasibility of a small microprocessor.

SAN FRANCISCO—EDA and IP vendor Cadence Design Systems Inc. said Tuesday (Sept. 4) that the first products in its DDR4 SDRAM PHY and memory controller IP family have been proven in silicon on TSMC's 28-nm high-performance for mobile applications process and its 28-nm high-performance process.

Cadence (San Jose, Calif.) said it has received and characterized multiple versions of its DDR PHY and controller IP in 28-nm silicon based on advanced drafts of the DDR4 standard.

The proposed DDR4 standard, anticipated to be released by Jedec later this year, is expected to offer users performance benefits over DDR3, Cadence said. DRAM devices adopting the DDR4 standard are expected to have 50 percent higher operational frequency and double the memory capacity of DDR3 devices while reducing the power consumed in the DRAM by as much as 40 percent per bit transferred, according to Cadence.

"DDR4 is going to be the next big thing in DRAMs, but its signaling is challenging to handle," said Jim Handy, an analyst at Objective Analysis, in a statement released by Cadence. "As PCs migrate to DDR4 DRAMs, this standard will become the volume leader, giving it a price advantage that will be impossible to ignore. ASIC designers who want to take advantage of that pricing are likely to need a lot of help putting a reliable interface on their products."

Cadence said its PHY family includes a high-speed implementation of the DDR4 PHY that exceeds the data rates specified in the DDR-2400 draft, meeting the requirements of next-generation computing, networking, cloud infrastructure, and home entertainment devices, while offering interoperability with current DDR3 and DDR3L standards.

SAN FRANCISCO—The powerful alliance between Intel Corp. and Microsoft Corp. that has set the pace in the computer market for a generation is beginning to fray amid a new era of computing where new platforms are rising to dominance, according to market research firm IHS iSuppli.

The so-called "Wintel" alliance is expected to suffer a decline in market share in the "new" computer market—a category consisting of not just PCs but also the faster-growing smartphone and media tablet segments, according to IHS.

Microsoft’s share of the operating system market for the three types of products is expected to slip to a combined 33 percent in 2016, down from 44 percent last year, according to IHS. Intel’s share of microprocessors in PCs, smartphones and tablets is expected to slip to 29 percent in 2016, down from 41 percent last year, IHS said.

The total size of the redefined computer market is projected to double from 2011 to 2016, almost entirely due to the strong growth of the smartphone and media tablet segments, according to IHS.

But after years of marching shoulder to shoulder to dominate the PC market with their closely tied operating system and microprocessor technologies, the tables have turned on Wintel, according to Craig Stice, senior principal analyst for compute platforms at IHS. The two companies for years extracted the majority of profits in the PC segment, but sales of smartphones and tablets are now growing at much faster rates, Stice said.

"Wintel finds itself in the unfamiliar position of dancing to someone else’s tune, following standards that were set by other companies for form factors, user interfaces and even pricing," Stice said. "This means Microsoft and Intel must think outside the box—even if it means adopting strategies that work against each other’s interests."

SAN FRANCISCO—Semiconductor sales improved slightly in July compared to June, but remained lower than July 2011, according to the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) trade group.

The SIA reported Tuesday (Sept. 4) that global chip sales on a three-month moving average totaled $24.4 billion in July, up 0.2 percent from June but down 1.9 percent compared with July 2011. The year-over-year decrease was the smallest it has been since October 2011, SIA said.

"July’s sales figures offer some encouraging signs for the global semiconductor industry, but it’s clear that macroeconomic challenges are restricting stronger growth," said Brian Toohey, SIA president and CEO, in a statement. "Meanwhile, the regional outlook remains uneven. Japan has rebounded strongly from last year’s natural disaster and Asia Pacific has held steady, but Europe and the Americas have lagged."

July's sales total in Japan was up 4.2 percent from July 2011 and Asia-Pacific's chip sales grew by 1.4 percent compared to a year ago, SIA said. But sales in Europe and the Americas declined by 10 percent and 10.4 percent, respectively, compared with July 2011, SIA said.

On a sequential basis, July's sales grew 5.4 percent in Japan compared with June, and sales in Asia Pacific increased by 0.3 percent. Sales remained flat month-to-month in Europe and declined by 3.9 percent in the Americas.

The month-to-month increase in Japan was the strongest it has been since September 2009 and the year-over-year increase in the country was the highest since January 2011, SIA said.

SIA's chip sales figures are provided by the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics Council, a provider of semiconductor industry market data with about 55 member companies.

Cadence says 28-nm DDR4 IP proven on TSMC process

SAN FRANCISCO—EDA and IP vendor Cadence Design Systems Inc. said Tuesday (Sept. 4) that the first products in its DDR4 SDRAM PHY and memory controller IP family have been proven in silicon on TSMC's 28-nm high-performance for mobile applications process and its 28-nm high-performance process.

Cadence (San Jose, Calif.) said it has received and characterized multiple versions of its DDR PHY and controller IP in 28-nm silicon based on advanced drafts of the DDR4 standard.

The proposed DDR4 standard, anticipated to be released by Jedec later this year, is expected to offer users performance benefits over DDR3, Cadence said. DRAM devices adopting the DDR4 standard are expected to have 50 percent higher operational frequency and double the memory capacity of DDR3 devices while reducing the power consumed in the DRAM by as much as 40 percent per bit transferred, according to Cadence.

"DDR4 is going to be the next big thing in DRAMs, but its signaling is challenging to handle," said Jim Handy, an analyst at Objective Analysis, in a statement released by Cadence. "As PCs migrate to DDR4 DRAMs, this standard will become the volume leader, giving it a price advantage that will be impossible to ignore. ASIC designers who want to take advantage of that pricing are likely to need a lot of help putting a reliable interface on their products."

Cadence said its PHY family includes a high-speed implementation of the DDR4 PHY that exceeds the data rates specified in the DDR-2400 draft, meeting the requirements of next-generation computing, networking, cloud infrastructure, and home entertainment devices, while offering interoperability with current DDR3 and DDR3L standards.

Fujitsu Semi offloads test and assembly operations

SAN FRANCISCO—Fujitsu Semiconductor Ltd. will close one semiconductor test and assembly facility in Japan and transfer ownership of two others to J-Devices Corp., a test and assembly specialist, under the terms of an agreement signed last week.

Fujitsu (Yokohama, Japan) said the move is part of its continuing migration to a "fab-lite" strategy first announced in 2009. The two companies aim to build a long-term, mutually beneficial strategic partnership, Fujitsu said.

J-Devices (Usuki, Japan), formerly known as Nakaya Micro Devices, is a joint venture that is owned in part by Amkor Technology Inc. and Toshiba Corp.

The transaction completed by the end of this year. All employees of the two plants—located in the Miyagi and Aizu prefectures—are expected to be transferred to J-Devices, Fujitsu said. The company said it plans a staged transfer of the equipment from its test and assembly facility in the Kyushu region to an existing J-Devices facility in the same region.

LONDON – In a return to the 20th century days of electromechanical computation IBM and STMicroelectronics are working on a project to enable a low-power processor made from nanometer-scale mechanical relays.

The European Commission likes the idea and has put IBM Research Zurich in charge of a European research project that aims to produce a logic process that is based on nanometer-scale relays that remain compatible with conventional CMOS transistor logic. The advantage of such a system would be much lower off-state power consumption as leakage current would be considerably reduced.

Alongside IBM and STMicroelectronics NV (Geneva, Switzerland) are academic researchers from the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne, Kungliga Tekniska Hoegskolan (KTH), and the universities of Bristol and Lancaster.

The three-year collaborative research project has a budget of 3.96 million euro (about $5.0 million) of which the European Commission is providing 2.44 million euro (about $3.1 million).

The motivation for the research is that as transistors have been miniaturized leakage power consumption is becoming as large as active power consumption and this is a particular issue for emerging applications such as autonomous sensors nodes, wireless communications and mobile computing.

The NEMIAC (Nano-Electro-Mechanical Integration And Computation) project aims to develop a process based on what it calls nano-electromechanical (NEMS) switches suitable for embedded systems and offering 3-D integration with CMOS. The researchers are being asked to show a magnitude improvement in energy efficiency with no performance penalty compared with solid-state. The process is also expected to have higher radiation resistance and higher temperature operation than CMOS.

The relays are expected to have a footprint of less than 3-micron by 3-micron and demonstrate a switching time of the order of 10 nanoseconds.   凡是与北京玉学玉文化研究中心副主任于明打过交道的人,都知道他是个颇为直爽的人.于明既做学问,也懂玉市行情.和他聊天你就会发现,他谙熟海内外中国玉器市场.于明谈话风趣幽默,总能把看似复杂枯燥的玉市行情用最明白且最轻松的方式表达出来,他对玉市的剖析和梳理会给玉器收藏爱好者提供一个较为清晰的脉络.

  采访一开始,于明简明扼要点出:“今春艺术品市场的大形势不佳,也殃及玉器市场中的一部分拍卖.但总体而言,玉器还是受到广大人民群众的欢迎,特别是明清玉仍是海内外藏家追捧的焦点.从四、五月份的拍卖可以看出,竞拍人数及拍品成交价都达到了一个新的层面.真正懂行的收藏家不怕买的价格高,他们认为只要东西真,只输时间不输钱.”

  明清玉的高调

  明清玉仍是玉器市场的宠儿,这是不争的事实.中国嘉德“良玉美妍——工艺品珍赏”专场,拍品总数为198件,成交113件,成交率57.07%,成交价额2015.95万元;香港佳士得中国宫廷御制艺术精品专场成交额超过两亿港币,成交率62.79%.北京保利中国玉器专场成交额达3560.745万元,成交率54.34%.这些专拍中,上拍的大部分拍品为明清时代的玉器佳作,成交情况喜人.

  “明清玉在海外市场也得到了认可,这一点从伦敦邦瀚斯的拍卖中我们就可以看出.从个人的角度,我比较欣赏邦瀚斯的拍卖风格.对于每一件玉器,它都有收藏记录,每一个细节都能够体现出它是一件流传有绪的拍品,让人买得清楚放心.”于明回忆了一下这几年玉器拍卖的情况,“明清玉这两年来的历史说明拍卖很好,受市场影响不大.所以海内外各大公司无论大拍、小拍都以明清玉为主.我觉得这种势头还会继续下去,至少两三年都不会改变.这一点其实也很好理解,买家都是去买自己可以弄明白、可以理解的东西,高古玉背后的历史文化有些过于高深,现代人理解起来有一定的困难.”

  高古玉的惆怅

  所谓“高古玉”是指明代之前的玉器.北京翰海中国玉器专场228件拍出150件,成交额为1743.86万元,成交率65.5%,其中包括一批高古玉.于明认为,“凡是很开门的高古玉都成交了,品相稍差的流拍.实际上,以我的鉴定水平,这批高古玉的真伪没有问题,估价并不高,为的是吸引更多的买家,但最终成绩并不理想.这也说明了一个事实,那就是市场不好的时候,收藏家不愿意收藏将来出手比较难的玉器.”

  高古玉难出手最关键的症结,在于鉴定难.当前的收藏市场上中无一家鉴定机构或一位鉴定专家,有足够的公信度来确定一件玉器的真伪优劣,因而似乎只能依靠市场力量来决定一件古玉的真伪,即信誉度较高的拍卖公司最终成功拍出、并取得高价的玉器被藏家认可.收藏者陷入了两难境地:一方面认为拍卖公司是利益攸关方,难以保证中立态度,希望出现一个不受任何利益集团影响的第三方来负责玉器的鉴定工作;另一方面,却不得不将最后的鉴定重任交付拍卖公司,皆由市场定夺.

  于明发现,今年有些大公司玉器拍卖的拍品质量呈现下滑趋势,赝品泛滥是对市场最大的伤害.“现在市场上其实并不缺钱,缺的是信誉.有些拍卖公司甚至认为真伪已经不再重要了,只要能拍出去,无所谓真假.现在风潮就是这样.对此我实在难以苟同,我还是认同伦敦邦瀚斯那样有良好的信誉、重视细节、拍品来源可靠、传承有绪的营销方式.”

  “高古玉收藏人群貌似很大,但是藏友水平良莠不齐.我认为真正具备一定眼力和知识储备人的最多二三百位.收藏群体小,受市场影响大.市场红火的时候,高古玉市场也有上升趋势,但市场稍有回落,高古玉市场也随之一落千丈.”

  新玉的胜利

  相对于明清玉,当代玉雕作品即所谓的“新玉”.新玉市场面曾经面临尴尬境地.

  曾几何时,当代玉雕在拍场的价格敌不过私下交易,因而拍卖市场一度难觅精品.新玉收藏市场像书画市场一样注重名头,是否是大师雕刻的作品很重要.但与书画市场不同的是,同一位大师雕刻的作品,却因其材料、雕工的不同,在价格上存在着巨大的差异.由于拍卖价格上不去,拍卖公司征集来的大师作品往往不是精品,以大师的名头估价过高而流拍.这一现象给新入场的玉器藏家造成误解,以为大师作品有价无市,从而不敢涉足玉器收藏,形成恶性循环.实际上,大师雕刻的精品,在没有到达拍卖公司之前,便已经被收藏者争相收藏了.不少人是寻到上好玉器材料之后,专门请大师设计、雕刻,这样雕成的作品藏家一般舍不得出售,都是自行收藏赏玩,等待升值.新玉市场中的精品目前尚处于囤货阶段,还没有迎来高潮换手期.然而,今春新玉市场的拍卖行情有所改观.

  北京匡时当代玉雕大师作品专场上拍91件作品,成交42件,成交率46.15%,成交额7624.2万元.于明认为,“这样的成交价,已经很接近这些当代玉雕的市场价格.市场中终于出现了一批佳作.艺术大师的作品得到社会认可,特别是吴德生的玉雕作品全部成交.说明人们逐渐认识到玉雕大师作品的收藏价值.”

  北京博观拍卖是一家以当代玉雕为主要经营对象的拍卖公司.今春该公司推出了五场当代玉雕专场.分别为“盈握于心——当代玉石雕刻名家艺术精品专场”,成交额758.4万元,成交率33%;“佛性禅心——当代玉石雕刻精品之佛教题材专场”,成交额81.9万元,成交率58.3%;“时代印记——当代玉石雕刻之台湾回流精品专场”,成交额299.7万元,成交率47.5%;“尺山寸水——当代玉雕精品之文人山水题材专场”,成交额218.9万元,成交率57.4%;“大器之美——当代玉石雕刻精品之器皿件专场”,成交额95.2万元,成交率64%.

  于明认为,博观拍卖更适合眼力好的行内人去甄选,由于价格较低,颇具捡漏可能.行家收藏不一定专挑大师作品.有些作品材料好,工艺精湛,造型独特,即使创作者没有大名头也没有关系.但如果不是很懂行的买家,最稳妥的还是购买市场较为认可的玉雕大师的作品.

  目前中国当代玉雕大师分为三派:京派、海派和苏州扬州派.中国珠宝玉石首饰行业协会公布过四届“中国玉石雕刻大师”名单.京派代表人物于明推崇苏然,认为她不仅是京派代表,更是宫廷派的代表人物;海派于明细数了七位:倪伟滨、刘忠荣、翟倚卫、易少勇、吴德生、于泾、崔磊;苏州扬州派为蒋喜、杨曦、俞挺、顾永骏、汪德海.“除十几位玉雕大师外,还有很多大师的作品也很好.当代玉雕大师想要流芳百世一看水平,二还要靠运气.我们收藏其作品的时候还要有自己的眼光.”

  翡翠的迷茫

  中国嘉德钟表珠宝翡翠专场上拍36件翡翠饰品,令人惊讶的是只有6件成交,其余均遭流拍.今春翡翠“凄凉”的境遇和去年红火态势形成了鲜明的对比.

  香港翡翠行情没有内地这般低迷.佳士得春拍瑰丽珠宝及翡翠首饰专场,上拍301件,成交额6.2336亿港币,成交率78.41%.其中有近一半为翡翠饰品,还包括20件紫罗兰精美首饰.

  分析今春翡翠行情不振的原因,于明认为关键问题是供大于求.去年翡翠高涨的势头使得内地翡翠行遍地开花.“本身翡翠饰品就不是日用品,不是每天都需要购买的.开翡翠店一般都有‘三年不开张,开张吃三年’之说.去年翡翠行情大好,都想分一杯羹,竞争多了,价格自然就降下来了.再加上翡翠饰品的样式不多,翡翠是要体现人本身的美.因此品牌之间没有明显的差别.比如你要买一个翡翠镯子,在种和色都相差无几的情况下,你肯定不去管品牌而去买最便宜的.”

  天珠来袭

  天珠又称“天眼珠”,主要产地在西藏、藏东、不丹、锡金、拉答克等喜马拉雅山域,是一种稀有宝石.天珠为九眼页岩,含有玉质及玛瑙成份,为藏密七宝之一,史书记载为“九眼石天珠”.西藏人至今仍认为天珠是天降石.天珠的藏语发音为“思怡”(DZI),为美好、威德、财富之意.

  北京翰海春拍今春推出一场“慧眼——天珠专场”,共上拍天珠38件, 25件成功拍出,成交率65.79%,成交总额高达6640.1万元.有一件十二眼天珠拍得1840万拔得全场头筹.翰海预展现场还特意请到著名影星杨子和黄圣依,为天珠拍卖造势,以便吸引更多的买家.

  据于明介绍,汉代墓曾发现并出土过大量天珠.天珠并不是玉文化的主流,历史的价格也没有如今这么高.目前市场上流通的天珠,绝大部份是人工制作的,其图案都是用含铅的涂料绘画上去,之后用高温烧制.不同的图案有不同的寓意.天珠的材料除九眼页岩外,也有用玉髓和玛瑙.

  9月1日,第九届海峡艺术品交流会――寿山石专场在福建省民间艺术馆展览厅开幕.203件由郭卓怀、林志峰、郭子伯、陈为新等寿山石名家创作的寿山石精品与众多来自福建省内外及福州寿山石收藏家见面.据本届“海峡艺交会”主办方透露,此次交流会征集过程中,寿山石藏家们表现得异常活跃,藏品数量是历届最多的一次;此次交流会共有13件艺术品味和人文底蕴较浓厚的寿山石薄意雕刻藏品,成为藏家新宠.

  中新网昆明9月3日电(记者 胡远航)“目前,云南珠宝玉石文化产业从业人员达30万人,但玉雕技术人员只有3000人左右,玉雕创意人才更是不足100人.”云南省文产办专职副主任田大余3日坦言,人才匮乏成为制约云南乃至中国珠宝文化产业发展的瓶颈.发展玉雕人才,开展玉雕职业教育,势在必行.

  田大余介绍称,云南玉雕队伍是典型的金字塔结构,由玉雕大师、玉雕技术人员和抛光等各类辅助工匠组成.尽管基数庞大,但经过系统学习的很少,有着独到见解和艺术风格的玉雕大师更是少之又少.

  “由于历史原因,玉雕这一行当基本上以师傅带徒弟的方式在传承,文化水准普遍不高.”田大余说,近年来,在云南德宏、腾冲等玉石加工业比较发达的地方,也出现了不少玉石小工厂自办的玉雕技工班,但技工的专业素养却无法保证,“只能千篇一律地复制弥勒观音、龙凤福寿等传统图案.”

  田大余表示,一个真正的玉雕大师,必须具备一定的美学、哲学、社会学等学理基础,同时也需要对生活有着深厚的积累,对人文、社会有着属于自己的思考.“学玉雕不仅要学手艺,还得学文化.”

  谈及如何扭转云南玉雕人才匮乏的局面,田大余称,云南省将通过完善昆明理工大学等高等院校的珠宝设计专业、瑞丽国际珠宝翡翠学校等职教学校,组建云南珠宝学院,构建一套完整的玉雕人才培养体系;同时还将规划建设一个大型珠宝文化创意园区,打造培养玉雕人才的实践舞台;并借力玉雕大师作品展等展览,挖掘云南玉雕人才,促进滇派玉雕文化创新.

  一直以来,云南因毗邻玉石主产区缅甸有着“玉出云南”的美好口碑.据不完全统计,2011年云南珠宝文化产业(不含毛料)产值达到303亿元,从业企业超过1.4万家,从业人员达到30多万人.(完)

  徒步驴友发现3吨重玛纳斯“碧玉”求收购 鉴定机构负责人表示该石不能明确判断为碧玉

  近日,一个在玛纳斯县徒步旅行的驴友,竟然捡到了一块3吨重的“碧玉”!如果按目前普通碧玉1500元/公斤的价格计算,该块碧玉值450万元.若以极品碧玉10000元/公斤的价格计算,则其价可达3000万元.

  不过记者了解到,品质佳的碧玉极少,这也造成其大批量以高端时尚配饰进入消费市场,价格与和田白玉相比有10倍以上的差距.

  驴友发现3吨重“碧玉”

  据新疆网8月31日报道,一名徒步经过玛纳斯县的旅行者王天凯无意发现了一块长2.7米、宽1.3米、厚0.65米、颜色呈深灰绿的碧玉.

  据王天凯称,将玉石的一小部分送到了新疆岩矿宝玉石产品质量监督检验站进行鉴定,鉴定证书上显示,该碧玉的主要成分是透闪石岩原料,光性特征是非均质集合体,折射率为1.61,内部特征呈现纤维交织结构,具有玛纳斯玉的特征.

  记者电话咨询了新疆岩矿宝玉石产品质量监督检验站的李忠志站长,她在查阅鉴定底单后告诉记者,王天凯拿到检验站鉴定的是一块20克的石块,估计是从边缘敲下的小部分,鉴定结果并非“碧玉”而是“透闪石原料”.“如果达到玉的标准,能达到碧玉的标准就会写碧玉.那块3吨重的玉石到底是不是碧玉,不能明确判断.”李忠志说,其一鉴定的标本太小了,其二是他们并没有见到原石.

  “透闪石是组成碧玉最基础的成分,原石是否全部达到玉的标准、是不是碧玉都不好说.有可能这块大石没有完全达到玉的标准.”李忠志说,不过捡到3吨的碧玉的可能性不是很大,应该说王天凯确实很有“玉缘”了.

  中国玉雕大师郭海军告诉记者,理论上讲应该存在“捡”到碧玉的可能,而且3吨的碧玉并不算罕见:“碧玉产地很多,外国的俄罗斯、加拿大,中国的和田、台湾、玛纳斯,都有出产.清水河一带我去过,离玛纳斯几十公里.”

  不过,他表示“眼见方为实”:“这些地方有无数人走过,轻易捡到的可能性比较小.当然我们不排除那些没人去过的或者海拔高的地方.”

  碧玉6~7年价翻10倍左右

  碧玉是玉石中的有色玉种,近6~7年价格飞涨.郭海军认为:“第一是和田白玉价格涨了,带动其他玉石,其二是和田白玉价格高了,很多人只能转而购买其他‘替代品种’.”

  碧玉的结构和和田白玉相似,但是颜色偏绿,而且产量大,等级高的极少;碧玉颜色跟翡翠属于同类色,但不能等同,不过有的发烧友认为碧玉呈绿色,有吉祥、长寿、绿树长青的意头,所以碧玉的手镯、瓜果件很受市场欢迎.

  在多个产地中,玛钠斯碧玉发黑发灰,颜色较差,而俄罗斯碧玉块头大、绿色佳.加拿大碧玉和俄罗斯碧玉同样属于碧玉中较好的品种,上世纪90年代时受行内所喜爱,而到了上世纪90年代末时可以发现,国内最大的碧玉加工基地河南用得最多的是俄罗斯碧玉了.郭海军透露,每年流向新疆的俄罗斯碧玉数量很大;台湾产的“分钱玉”和马拉斯碧玉非常接近,近年不少台湾商人在俄罗斯收购囤积碧玉并加工后销售到内地.

  “玉石的价值不在于大小,在于品质.”郭海军说,碧玉最大的可达十几吨,很可能是运输不便,自然界很多东西不为人所知:“不要说3吨的碧玉,就算是30吨都有可能存在,但可能是发现不了,或者运输不了.”

  但能达到收藏级的碧玉并不多,更多玉料被制作为时尚的消费品、高档的配饰品,郭海军认为它们的价位和品质还达不到奢侈品的等级.因此,尽管近几年价格飞涨,碧玉的价格和和田白玉还是有很大的差距.和田白玉价格比碧玉高10倍以上.据了解,目前好的和田白玉价格为10万~30万元/公斤之间,碧玉平均水平为1500元/公斤左右,顶级的可达1万元/公斤.

MANHASSET, NY -- FormFactor, Inc. has signed a merger agreement with Astria Semiconductor Holdings, Inc., the parent company of MicroProbe, Inc., to acquire MicroProbe for $100 million in cash and $16.8 million in stock.

"FormFactor and MicroProbe customers will benefit since the combined company will have the technology and resources to address semiconductor test requirements across the entire advanced probe card space." said Tom St. Dennis, CEO of FormFactor, in a statement.

"I'm very excited about the combination of MicroProbe and FormFactor," said Mike Slessor, Chief Executive Officer of MicroProbe, whowill become a senior vice president and executive officer of the combined companies.

FormFactor, Inc. is a leader provides advanced wafer probe cards, which are used by semiconductor manufacturers to electrically test ICs. MicroProbe which provides wafer test solutions to global semiconductor manufacturers is privately held with investors that include Flywheel Ventures, Intel Capital and Gemini Investors.

MicroProbe generated $87.3 million in revenue in its fiscal year ended December 31, 2011, growing 46 percent year-over-year and delivering a non-GAAP EBITDA margin of approximately 20 percent. MicroProbe and its affiliated companies have approximately 360 employees worldwide.

The merger is subject to customary conditions and is expected to close in the first half of FormFactor's fiscal quarter ending December 29, 2012.

LONDON – Quantum computing has been brought a step closer to mass production by a research team led by scientists from the University of Bristol that has made a transition from using glass to silicon.

The Bristol team has been demonstrating quantum photonic effects in glass waveguides for a number of years but the use of a silicon chip to demonstrate photonic quantum mechanical effects such as superposition and entanglement, has the advantage of being a match to contemporary high volume manufacturing methods, the team claimed.

This could allow the creation of hybrid circuits that mix conventional electronic and photonic circuitry with a quantum circuit for applications such as secure communications.

One result could be that quantum mechanical computing could be deployed much sooner that had previously predicted. It has been estimated that it could take a decade or more to develop and deploy all the circuitry for an end-to-end quantum computer although such a machine would theoretically have much greater performance than current electronic computers.

The Bristol researchers latest work, carried out with collaborators from Toshiba central R&D in Japan, Heriot-Watt University in Scotland and Delft University in the Netherlands, created a silicon-on-insulator chip with circuits to demonstrate two-photon quantum interference and photon entanglement in a Mach-Zehnder interferometer. These new circuits are compatible with existing optical fiber infrastructure and are ready to be deployed directly. The silicon waveguides have widths of 450-nm and depths of 220-nm.

"Using silicon to manipulate light, we have made circuits over 1000 times smaller than current glass-based technologies. It will be possible to mass-produce this kind of chip using standard microelectronic techniques, and the much smaller size means it can be incorporated in to technology and devices that would not previously have been compatible with glass chips," said Mark Thompson, deputy director of the Centre for Quantum Photonics in Bristol University's School of Physics, in a statement.

The Bristol research team is reportedly in discussions with Nokia about the use of quantum computing within mobile communications.

翡翠的选取和鉴定

一、翡翠的由来

翡翠,也称翡翠、翠玉、硬玉、缅甸玉,是玉石的一种。颜色呈翠绿色(称之翠或者母)或红色(称之翡或者公)。据史料记载,“翠”专指和田出产的绿玉,而在翡翠经缅甸自明朝传入我国后,为了与和田所产的绿玉区分,遂呼其为“非翠”,经后世的漫长演变为“翡翠”的称呼。实际上翡翠是在地质作用过程中,气压极其高,温度却只在200到300度之间,而形成的主要由硬玉、绿辉石和辉石组成的,能达到玉级的多晶集合体物质。

二、翡翠的选取

那么,在如今造假胜似真货的时代,我们应该如何去选取真正的翡翠呢?

常见的几种翡翠种类的识别:

1)、老坑种翡翠

也指老坑玻璃种,即在翡翠中,透明度最高,水头最足,晶莹剔亮!顾名思义,就是透明得犹如玻璃般,老坑玻璃种可以说是最高档的翡翠的称呼,但是,它本身终还是会有高中低档之分的。那么,如何鉴别其的高低呢?好的玻璃种翡翠,其质地细腻纯净犹如琉璃般脆,无瑕疵,颜色为纯正、明亮、浓郁、均匀的成色。它的翡翠硬玉结晶粒很细小,如果仅凭肉眼看,还是极难见到“翠性”的;老坑种翡翠在光的照射下呈半透明或者透明状,就是翡翠中的上品或极品了。

2)冰种翡翠

冰种翡翠的透明度和水头就要低于玻璃种,但其的成色像冰一样透明,质地较好的常会被充为玻璃种出售。实际上,冰种翡翠的质地与老坑种有相似之处,无色或少色,冰种翡翠的特征是表面光泽好,半透明至透明,清透丝凝冰,给人以冰莹的感觉。在冰种翡翠中,我们最常见到的就是“蓝花冰”此类冰种就是在冰种翡翠中,形成有如棉花絮状或藕断丝连般的带状的蓝颜色。冰种玉料通常是制作手镯或小挂件的首选。我们可以根据这点进行适当的选择。但实际上在冰种翡翠中,无论如何去细分,它的价值都还是没有明显的高低之分,其价格主要取决于市场和人们喜好程度。

3)紫翡翠

这是一种紫色翡翠,因其颜色像紫罗兰花的紫色,故此命名为紫罗兰翡翠。但当我们把紫罗兰色和其他颜色混搭时,就会称为“椿”或“春色”。当然,具有“春色”的翡翠也有高、中、低各个档次,翡翠上的紫色通常不会太深,在翡翠界中,我们根据其紫色色调深浅度,会将翡翠中紫色划分为粉紫、茄紫和蓝紫,粉紫通常质地较细,透明度较好,茄紫次之,蓝紫再次之。但是,并非是只要是紫罗兰色,就一定值钱,一定是上品,顾客选购时,还须结合质地、透明度、整个做工水平等经行参考。其次,在选购时颜色呈紫色的翡翠,在搭着黄光下看时,就会显得紫色很深很美,所以选购的时候要多加注意点。

4)、墨翡翠

相信很多朋友在初次看到此类翡翠时,观其色泽黑得发亮发油,都会很容易误认为是墨玉或其他的黑色宝石,但在透射光下观察,我们就会发现墨翡翠则是呈半透明状,且黑中透绿的颜色,特别是薄片状的墨翠,在强透射光下颜色更加喜人。缅甸人常用“情人的影子”来形容黑色的硬玉,而我国则命名为“墨翠”。

5)、水种翡翠

水种翡翠其玉质结构要大大粗于老坑玻璃种,其色泽、透明度也比老坑玻璃种还低,但是其与冰种翡翠有点相类似。要买水种翡翠的朋友注意了,这里的水种实际上是可以分开的,“水”,就是水头的意思,就是指翡翠的透明度,透明度越高,且无杂质的,水头就越好;而“种”是指其的内部结构,内部结构越紧凑或者紧密的,它的种就越老,反之,若其内部结构越粗糙,种就越嫩,观看起来就会发觉其通透如水且光泽柔和,不刺眼。再细细看内部结构,我们还可见到少许的“波纹”,或有有少许的暗裂和石英纹,偶尔还可见极少的杂质、棉柳或者水草。

  “与各大二手市场相比,典当行最突出的特点在于快速短期融资,但并不是‘折现’的好去处.”天津某典当行负责人告诉记者,由于“典当”价格普遍比市场价格低出20%至60%,如果市民缺钱用,且不打算赎回,最好选择二手市场“回购”业务.但如果是“铂金首饰”则到典当行典当比到二手市场“回购”划算.典当行可给出与千足黄金一样的价格.

  该典当行工作人员介绍到,与各类产品相比,铂金的折当率最高,目前的金价为400元/克左右,而典当价格则为300元/克,折当率达75%以上.也就是说,一条5克左右重量的铂金项链当场就可以当1500元左右.“而对于其余珠宝,典当价格则较低,最多也只有商品目前市场价格的1/4,如一枚五万元左右的钻戒,在典当行一般只能当1万~2万元.”

  随后,记者发现,比较之下,玉器翡翠可能算是典当起来最不划算的产品,由于中国的玉器市场不规范,价格差异大,典当行一般很难给予高价评估.如一只5万元的翡翠手镯,拿到典当行,往往只能卖出不到5000元的价格,两三千元成交的居多.

The company, located in Songshan Lake industrial development zone of Dongguan City in Guangdong province, China, can supply 4-inch, 3-inch and 2-inch diameter wafers with a production capacity of 10,000 wafers per month.

Silicon-carbide epitaxial wafers are used in the production of Schottky diodes, MOSFETs, JFETs, and BJTs over a wide voltage. These devices are in turn used for energy efficient power electronics in equipment ranging from air conditioning, solar conversion and wind turbines up to electric vehicles, high-speed trains and smart grid electricity distribution.

Cree Inc. (Durham, North Carolina) is offering larger diameters of n-type doped 4H silicon-carbide, namely 150-mm diameter (6-inch) wafers.

The 150-mm epitaxial wafers with highly uniform epitaxial layers as thick as 100 microns are available for immediate purchase.

"Cree's ability to deliver high volumes of 100-mm epitaxial wafers is unrivaled in the SiC industry and our latest 150-mm technology continues to raise the standards for SiC wafers," said Vijay Balakrishna, Cree materials product manager, in a statement. "Our vertically integrated approach assures customers of a complete solution for high quality 150-mm SiC epitaxial wafers, providing industry leaders within the power electronics market the stable supply they demand."

  近年来,“典当”业务悄悄走进市民生活,记者在走访本市多家典当行时发现,在众多民品典当物品当中,铂金已成为典当起来最为划算的物品,而玉器翡翠可能算是典当起来最不划算的产品.

石就是构成地壳的一种带有硬性的矿物,比如说岩石、矿石等。所谓奇石,又叫做雅石、水石或者观赏石。奇石是奇怪、特别的石头,具有稀有性的特点。古人评价奇石的标准为瘦、皱、漏、透。近代评价奇石,讲究形状、质感、颜色、纹理的综合评判。但最重要的还在于其天然性。奇石的美必须是鬼斧神工,而不是人工的雕琢。

  奇石的种类繁多,主要包括被称为园林奇葩的太湖石,产于内蒙、青海、新疆等戈壁荒漠区的风蚀杰作风棱石,还有被誉为天赐国宝的雨花石,被李鹏总理题为“中华奇观”的三峡石,有着玉质金声的璧石,另外还有国山神石泰山石,雄奇陡峭的英石,以及黄河石、红河石、菊花石、大理石、水晶观赏石等等。

  有人认为奇石不是艺术,因为艺术的概念是人工的,奇石没有经过人类加工就不能称为艺术。这种观念存有争议,奇石从被发现,到摆弄、定名、展示都要注入文化内涵,根据收藏人自身的气质、品味、阅历添加人文添加剂。奇石在未被发现时是一块石头,在被发现后就是一件艺术品。

  欣赏奇石是一门发现的艺术,要用丰富的想象力、丰富的阅历、广阔的见识去解读奇石,这样才能美不胜收。奇石是以小见大,以大述小的视觉享受。奇石上的一峰则太华千寻,一勺则江湖万里。其山川、万山万物都是天工造物的自然痕迹,旨在似与不似之间展现奇石的风姿、气象,奇石是意境的空间美。

  收藏是一种文化的欣赏,是对社会的奉献,是一种纪念,收藏也是人格的美。没有收藏家的收藏我们无法看到几千年的文化,没有在收藏的过程中磨炼意志、陶冶情操人格的魅力也无法展现。在收藏奇石的过程中,既需要收藏者怀有对奇石爱好的冲动,又要有自制力控制冲动,太冲动很容易被卖主利用。由此看来,收藏要用智慧,要多看少买,讲究诚信;另外收藏者要做有心人,广结石友、掌握信息,不要急于一时,要讲究策略。收藏得到的奇石要小心保管,仔细保养,不要经常亮相,否则容易丢失、破损。

  收藏、欣赏奇石是一种健康的生活方式。仁者乐山,智者乐水。奇石的价值不是绝对的,不同的人对同一块石头的感受,定位,理念价值都不一样。拜石之举自古盛行,但不是见石都该拜,也不是人人见石都拜。拜石头既要看人,也要看石头。所以玩奇石要从容镇定,顺其自然,不要跟别人较量,这种心态十分重要。收藏、欣赏奇石实际上是品读艺术、理解文化、品味人生。从奇石的欣赏和收藏中体悟人生经验,休养身心,追求真、善、美,生活更有情趣。

自古以来,对艺术品的收藏一直为文人雅士所好。今天,中国艺术品市场交易总额位列世界第一,正成长为继股市、房地产之后中国式投资的“第三极”。可今年我国艺术品市场却遭遇寒流,春拍大多遭遇腰斩,就连一路飞涨翡翠也结束了十年神话,量价齐跌。有人说我国艺术品市场告别了豪门盛宴,迎来了梦醒时分。为什么今年艺术品市场会遇冷?百姓投资艺术品市场的回报率如何?如何才能“淘金”有术?

  2012中国艺术品市场遇冷

  2012的春拍大幕已经缓缓落下,经历了2011春拍的繁花似锦和秋拍的总体下跌,今年的春拍市场, “寒流”、“拐点”一说逐渐甚嚣尘上,似乎艺术市场的“2012”已经提前到来。每年五六两月,是国内春拍的高峰期,相比往年天价频出的火热行情,今年的春拍市场几乎都遭遇了腰斩行情。6月登场的保利春拍虽然以30.3亿元的成交额高居今年国内春拍榜首, 但与去年61.3亿元的最高成交额相比,降幅超过一半。

  北京荣宝拍卖有限公司 刘尚勇(微博):回顾近10年来的艺术品也一样,去年到今年也是腰斩的行情,那么应当说,它跟整个大的经济环境是一样的,那么我们在这10年可能透支了20年的行情,因此我们再把价格往上推的时候,后面的接盘的人就不认可了。

  由于人们买涨不买跌的惯性思维,在这种调整趋势的市场中,买家趋于避险心理,多数持观望态度。买卖双方的博弈,让本来已经趋冷的市场更是冷上加冷。与此同时,从去年下半年开始各地爆发的民间资金链断裂的危机,使得许多中小企业资金紧张,也让艺术品市场的企业买家数量下降许多。但刘建业(微博)认为目前艺术品市场的低潮也是走向理性走向成熟的一个过程。

  中国收藏家协会咨询鉴定专家委员会秘书长 刘建业:别看到它总体好象是成交率低了一点,成交额低了一点了,但是这种低的是对于那些伪品,那些不真实的东西,艺术性不高的东西一种自然的抵制,同这个高档拍艺品不断的受到追捧这点看,我觉得收藏文化实际上推进了,就在今年的低潮里头可能就会出现新的高潮。

  翡翠结束10年暴涨神话

  一种产自缅甸北部的绿色石头,曾令无数人为之着迷,为之疯狂。翡翠被誉为“玉石之王”是玉石家族中最珍贵的品种。然而,半年来,这疯狂的石头终于止住了前进的步伐,最高跌幅50%。持续十年暴涨的“翡翠神话”,如今似乎到了“梦醒时分”:交易规模急剧下滑,低端产品大幅缩水,高端精品乏人问津。

  中国收藏家协会咨询鉴定专家委员会秘书长 刘建业:翡翠的泡沫太大,原来涨的太高了,实际超过了它的本身价值了,因此应该消灭泡沫,在这种舆论之下,翡翠的价格开始下降。

  然而就在一年前,翡翠市场还可谓热火朝天。事实上,自2002年以来,翡翠一直受到消费者、收藏者和投资者的热捧,缔造了十年只涨不跌的“神话”。尤其从2009年到2011年上半年,翡翠价格以几十倍到几百倍的速度飙升。“疯子买、疯子卖,还有疯子在等待”,成为这个时期翡翠市场的写照。专家认为,前两年翡翠价格疯涨,是游资过度炒作的结果。随着泡沫破灭,翡翠市场进入了理性调整的时期,翡翠行业没有死亡。

  中国收藏家协会咨询鉴定专家委员会秘书长刘建业:我认为大家还应该重视翡翠现在真实的价值,认真的分析真实价值而不要受市场这种所谓的降价的这种舆论的影响。当然投资的时候也不能盲动,有些确实炒的国疯了,适当的可以冷静一点,但是总的趋势我觉得收藏翡翠,收藏珠宝仍然是保值增值一个最好的途径。

  艺术品市场投资 百姓如何“淘金”有术

  2011年我国艺术品市场交易总额达到2108亿元,年增长率达24%,位列世界第一,中国已经成为全球最活跃的艺术品市场。受一路高歌猛进的艺术品市场拉动,中国当代艺术品的身价大幅度飙升,天价拍品屡屡出现。但专家告诫百姓投资艺术品市场应该摆正心态,不要寄希望于一夜暴富。

  北京荣宝拍卖有限公司 刘尚勇:那我觉得首先我们参与艺术品市场不能够怀着赌博的心理,不能像赌马一样去买画。如果你买到这个画家恰恰是市场中的黑马,那是你押宝押对了,这种事情是非常偶然的,连1%的希望都没有,有点像你买彩票中奖了,这种事情不能作为我们买艺术品的一种预期。

  高回报率是投资客竞相角逐艺术品市场的原因所在。数据显示,自2004年以来,中国艺术品收藏投资年回报率为26%。已经超过风险系数较高的股票和房地产。专家建议,百姓在寻宝的过程中应该借助鉴定机构,减少风险。

  中国收藏家协会咨询鉴定专家委员会的秘书长 刘建业:那么这些机构实际上都能起到社会藏品鉴定的这样的作用,当然你说绝对准确不敢说,至少来说不会指鹿为马,南辕北辙,所以了在高价的投资以前,一定要请专家把把关。

  “盛世藏古董, 乱世买黄金”, 艺术品收藏与投资的热潮近年来一阵高过一阵。但投身到收藏领域,想在沧海里撷珠首先必须得先学会游泳,具备基本的鉴定知识。当然最重要的是还得抱着一种健康平和的投资心态,不要盲目冲动,寄希望于一夜暴富。

Tokyo court hands Samsung a win over Apple


LONDON – A Tokyo court has found Samsung not guilty of infringing Apple's intellectual property, in contrast to a jury decision and a $1.05 billion damage award in Apple's favor in a California court last week.

Tokyo district court judge Tamotsu Shoji rejected on Friday (Aug. 31) Apple's claim that Samsung's products infringe patents related to synchronization of media files.

A week before a nine-person U.S. federal jury had found that many of Samsung's phones infringe most of two design and three utility patents held by Apple. However, the U.S. jury found that Samsung's tablets do not infringe Apple's iPad design patent.

"We welcome the court's decision, which confirmed our long-held position that our products do not infringe Apple's intellectual property," Reuters quoted Samsung as saying in a statement following the verdict from the Tokyo court.

The court case in Japan was not as broad as that conducted in the U.S., focusing only on a synchronization feature. Nonetheless it could have prevented the sale of Samsung Galaxy mobile phones, albeit older ones targeted by Apple, in Japan. The ruling leaves the way open for Samsung to continue selling smartphones in the Japanese market where it has been beating Apple in volume, the Financial Times said. Apple had been asking for comparatively modest damages of 100 million yen (about $1.3 million) the report said.

Unlike in South Korea and the United States, Japan rules case-by-case. Six other issues are yet to be ruled on by the Tokyo court, according to a Korea Times report. Samsung and Apple are also fighting in courts in Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, France and the Netherlands.

The Japanese decision in favor of Samsung in Japan is likely to provide further encouragement for Samsung to appeal the U.S. decision. The U.S. judge set Sept. 20 as the date for hearing to determine whether to set an injunction against Samsung selling in the U.S. any of the products that court found to be infringing. Those products are generally a set of about 12 Samsung Galaxy S and S II handset models.

'Nano machine shop' research shapes nanowires

MANHASSET, NY – Researchers have come up with a future manufacturing method for tiny structures with potentially revolutionary properties.

A "nano machine shop" shapes nanowires and ultrathin films and these structures might be tuned for applications ranging from high-speed electronics to solar cells.

It also may have greater strength and unusual traits such as ultrahigh magnetism and "plasmonic resonance," which could lead to improved optics, computers and electronics, according to the Purdue University researchers.

The researchers used their technique to stamp nano- and microgears; form tiny circular shapes out of graphene. "We do this shaping at room temperature and atmospheric pressure, like a nano-machine shop," said Gary Cheng, associate professor of industrial engineering at Purdue.

The laser shock-induced shaping method makes it possible to tune nanowires by altering electrical and optoelectrical properties that are critical for electronic components.

The researchers also have shown how laser shock-induced shaping can be used to change the properties of graphene, a step toward harnessing the material for electronic applications.

The technique works by using a multi-layered sandwich structure that has a tiny mold at the bottom.

Nanowires were situated directly above the mold, and other materials were layered between the nanowires and a glass cover sheet. Exposing this layered "forming unit" to an ultra-fast pulsing laser causes one of the layers to burn up, generating a downward pressure that forces the nanowires into the mold and changes their shape.

"The process could be scaled up for an industrial roll-to-roll manufacturing process by changing laser beam size and scanning speed," Cheng said. "The laser shock-induced shaping approach is fast and low-cost."

Findings were detailed the journal Nature Photonics.

Part of the research, funded by the National Science Foundation, was carried out in a specialized clean room at the Birck Nanotechnology Center in Purdue's Discovery Park.

The Hanking Group (Shenyang, China), a mining and metal processing conglomerate, formed subsidiary company Hanking Electronics Co. Ltd. in 2010 to enter the semiconductor business as a maker of MEMS. Hanking Electronics is constructing a wafer fab for the manufacture of MEMS in Fushun about 40 miles east of Shenyang.

However, that facility is not expected to be operational before 2014. Prior to that Hanking Group will begin offering training and sales support for the MUMPS multiproject wafer service to design engineers in China. Hanking Group will also focus on MUMPS-plus opportunities where designers are allowed to modify the standard MEMS processes offered under the MUMPS scheme.

MUMPS stands for Multi-User MEMS Processes. It is a program that was originally developed at the University of California Berkeley in the 1980s before moving to Microelectronics Corporation of North Carolina and brought up as a means of providing academics with access to MEMS prototyping. The service was transferred to Cronos Integrated Microsystems Inc. including a wafer fab in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, which was then acquired by Memscap in 2003.

Since 2003 Memscap as offered three standard MEMS processes namely PolyMUMPs, SOIMUMPs, and MetalMUMPs. Memscap is just about to initiate the hundredth MUMPS run and claims that MUMPs has delivered hundreds of thousands of devices to different user groups from the academic, commercial and government sectors worldwide.

It is a program that was originally developed at the University of California Berkeley in the 1980s before moving to Microelectronics Corporation of North Carolina and brought up as a means of providing academics with access to MEMS prototyping. The service was transferred to Cronos Integrated Microsystems Inc. including a wafer fab in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, which was then acquired by Memscap in 2003.

Since 2003 Memscap as offered three standard MEMS processes namely PolyMUMPs, SOIMUMPs, and MetalMUMPs. Memscap is just about to initiate the hundredth MUMPS run and claims that MUMPs has delivered hundreds of thousands of devices to different user groups from the academic, commercial and government sectors worldwide.

Tokyo court hands Samsung a win over Apple


LONDON – A Tokyo court has found Samsung not guilty of infringing Apple's intellectual property, in contrast to a jury decision and a $1.05 billion damage award in Apple's favor in a California court last week.

Tokyo district court judge Tamotsu Shoji ruled Friday (Aug. 31) rejected Apple's claim that Samsung's products infringe patents related to synchronization of media files.

A week before a nine-person U.S. federal jury had found that many of Samsung's phones infringe most of two design and three utility patents held by Apple. However, the U.S. jury found that Samsung's tablets do not infringe Apple's iPad design patent.

"We welcome the court's decision, which confirmed our long-held position that our products do not infringe Apple's intellectual property," Reuters quoted Samsung as saying in a statement following the verdict from the Tokyo court.

The court case in Japan was not as broad as that conducted in the U.S., focusing only on a synchronization feature. Nonetheless it could have prevented the sale of Samsung Galaxy mobile phones, albeit older ones targeted by Apple, in Japan. The ruling leaves the way open for Samsung to continue selling smartphones in the Japanese market where it has been beating Apple in volume, the Financial Times said. Apple had been asking for comparatively modest damages of 100 million yen (about $1.3 million) the report said.

Unlike in South Korea and the United States, Japan rules case-by-case. Six other issues are yet to be ruled on by the Tokyo court, according to a Korea Times report. Samsung and Apple are also fighting in courts in Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, France and the Netherlands.

The Japanese decision in favor of Samsung in Japan is likely to provide further encouragement for Samsung to appeal the U.S. decision. The U.S. judge set Sept. 20 as the date for hearing to determine whether to set an injunction against Samsung selling in the U.S. any of the products that court found to be infringing. Those products are generally a set of about 12 Samsung Galaxy S and S II handset models.
